BEAR MAIL
Friday January 10th.
Message from the BCE Office
Hello,
There is No School on Monday, 1/20, for MLK Day. We Hope everyone has a wonderful three-day weekend.
As always, there is so much going on here at BCE. We did our PBIS Rotation Station Reboot last week to remind us about the BCE Way. Our Jr. Coaches attended the board meeting this week to present on the BCE Way, and we started the 21 Days of Kindness Challenge. We are going big this year, so please take a moment to read below about our plans for Kindness month.
As a few of you have seen, we have all new fencing around the front of the school. All gates are finally up and ready to go. Starting next week, all gates will be closed at 8:45 daily and open again at 2:35. For TK pick-up, it will be open from 12:10-12:30. If you need to come onto campus, please come up to the new fancy gate by the MU with the camera. You hit the button, and we will buzz you in. The new gates will help us monitor who is on campus and ensure safety. Thank you in advance for understanding and helping keep our BCE Bears safe.
It has been so cold out in the mornings and so many kids are not coming with the appropriate clothes. Please make sure your child is wearing closed toed shoes and a warm long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, or jacket. We do not have extra in the office.
We are excited to get started on the 25/26 school year planning. Please complete the form for each child in your family. We are so excited to have you back next year. Please note that this is just for incoming students through 4th grade. 5th grade students will register with the middle school.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Gerri Fippin

21 Days of Kindness at BCE
Information
School Wide Kindness Parade- 1/30 Downtown Boulder Creek
We are so excited to share our 21 Days of Kindness celebration with the town of Boulder Creek on Thursday, January 30th. At 10:30, BCE students and staff will walk down Lomond St and have our kindness parade in downtown Boulder Creek. We will have our kindness chains, posters, and smiles to spread kindness to all. If you want to join us, please be downtown to cheer us on.
Posters and kindness links have been delivered to businesses downtown. If you would like one, please just let us know. We would love to share. Here's a link to our 21 Days of Kindness calendar!
If you do not want your child to participate in the parade, please email your teacher. This will be an opt-out only.
We will also be completing kindness chains this month. Every time an act of kindness is seen, a chain can be completed. Please help us by identifying kindness with your students so our chain is longer than ever.
TK- K Registration will open 1/7/25 - We can't wait to meet our new BCE Bears!

Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.

PBIS
Positive Behavior Support will continue to be a major focus for BCE this year. Our focus is on the BCE Way - Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible. We give out Bear Paws for making good choices. Bear Paws will be used like cash at the Bear Paw student store. Our first Bear Paw Store was today! Students had a lot of fun! Ask your BCE Bear how they earned Bear Paws.
