SouthLake Christian Community,
Today we welcomed our third finalist for the Head of School position to SouthLake Christian. Parents, you have the opportunity to meet the candidate tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1 at 8:30-9:30 am in the Sanctuary.
At the conclusion of each candidate visit, everyone who interacted with the finalist will have an opportunity to share their feedback through an online survey, which will help inform the Search Committee’s deliberations.
Photo Make-Up Day: Friday, October 4th
St. John Photography will be on campus for retake photo sessions on Friday, October 4th starting at 8:05 a.m. Students must wear complete formal uniforms for pictures, but can switch to spirit wear attire once their photograph is completed. Pictures will be taken at the front of the Wilcox Building (Upper School) at the covered entrance.
PSAT Testing
9-11th grade students - PSAT on October 23.
This is an opportunity to practice your skills for your future SAT. Please see the Student Guide for more information about the PSAT.

Upper School Students
Volunteer Now! Looking for enthusiastic parent volunteers to assist with the tear down process following the homecoming dance, which is scheduled for this Saturday, October 5. Your help will be greatly appreciated to ensure everything runs smoothly!
Students and guests must follow our Dance Dress Code Guidelines. If a student is planning to bring a guest to the dance, they must obtain a form from Mrs. Saunders at the office.
Student Mission Fellowship
Donations for Hurricane Helene Affected Families by Tuesday, October 1.
Student Mission Fellowship has identified an opportunity to immediately provide relief supplies by partnering with JAARS. If you want to help, please send in water, diapers, formula, protein bars, and sports drink powder by Tuesday, October 1. There will be collection bins at the main office in the Wilcox building and the lower and middle school offices in Hampton Hall. We realize this is a quick turnaround time. If you cannot help by this date, there will be other opportunities to assist shortly. We have contacted Asheville Christian School for information on how we can help them.
For those unfamiliar with JAARS, it is a Christian mission organization based in Waxhaw, NC. Their mission is to reach hard-to-reach people groups with the gospel around the world, mainly through aviation. JAARS pilots will be making deliveries around the western North Carolina area.

Homecoming Game and Senior Night
We're gearing up for an unforgettable evening of school spirit and community bonding at our upcoming school-wide tailgate! This special event will take place on October 11th, coinciding with our Homecoming celebration and Senior Night. To make this night truly spectacular, we need your help! Student Enrichment
After the Academics, SouthLake Christian's Student Enrichment program, extends our summer camp success. It offers extracurricular activities in academics, arts, robotics, and recreation to enhance students' experiences. Our goal is to provide programs for all grade levels, from JK to 12th grade, expanding as we grow. This after-school initiative aims to broaden opportunities for our student body. The mission of SouthLake Friends of the Fine Arts is to cultivate and promote a vibrant arts community within our school by providing resources, support and opportunities for artistic expression and exploration. Athletic News
Participation Fees
The Sports Participation Fee for this year $175, billed through FACTS. This charge applies yearly when a student joins a SouthLake Christian team roster. Fall sports teams should be finalized now.
The fee appears as an incidental billing in FACTS, and students playing multiple sports are only charged once per school year. This fee helps offset increasing equipment costs and provides extra insurance for student-athletes injured during school sports activities. You can find this information in the Athletic Handbook on our website.
Spirit Nights at the Varsity Football Games
We encourage all staff and students to wear their themed outfits at school to show enthusiasm. Please abide by your division guidelines for what is permitted. This will continue for each home football match. If successful, we aim to expand this practice to winter and spring athletics. Here's a list of upcoming home game themes to help you prepare.

Volunteer: The Eagle Club is looking for volunteers for admissions and concessions at our home athletic events. Members of the Beta Club can obtain service hours by signing up for any of these sporting events. Sign up here!

Testing - ACT & SAT
Registered seniors will participate in the SAT School Day on October 9. For additional details about the SAT, please consult the Student Guide.
Registered seniors will take the ACT on October 23. For more details about the ACT, including how to practice using the TestNav app, check outPreparing for the ACT Test Taken Online.
Complete the google form, upload ALL senior ad images, and submit payment. Ensure all three steps are finished and submitted on time to the yearbook team for publication. We value your support and are eager to collaborate with you.
