Our fifth graders delivered an outstanding performance on Friday, November 8, and Monday, November 11, to honor and pay tribute to our veterans. We are deeply grateful to all veterans and active-duty military family members for their service and dedication. It was a privilege to celebrate with those who were able to attend the performance in person. A special thank you to Mrs. Hall for her continued hard work in organizing this wonderful event each year.
Friday, November 15, will be the end of our first trimester. You can access your student's report card via TeacherEase beginning Friday,. There will be no hard copy report cards sent home.
Next week we will celebrate American Education Week with fun activities for our students at school as well as at home. Be on the lookout for more information later this week.
We are excited to announce that on Saturday, December 14, Western Trails Student Council will host a holiday breakfast at Western Trails. The event will be open to Western Trails families and will take place from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. More information will be shared as we get closer to the event.
With holidays around the corner, there are multiple opportunities to help those in need as well as receive support.
- District 93 Early Childhood Center has partnered with the Birth-5 coalition and Bright and Early to host Toys for Tots. More information can be found below.
- Western Trails PTA is hosting the Penguin Patch December 9 through December 13. This is an opportunity for students to purchase gifts for family members and friends. Students will come home with more information about the program.
The Western Trails PTA does an amazing job supporting our students and staff, and we are truly grateful for their dedication and the fantastic events they organize. Currently, they are holding a fundraiser with Nothing Bundt Cakes. Order forms were sent home with students and are due by Thursday, November 14. The PTA's goal is to raise enough funds to purchase an additional swingset! Please consider supporting this effort by participating in the fundraiser or by clicking the link in the PTA section below.
Finally, this Wednesday, November 13, we will be completing hearing and vision screenings in partnership with the DuPage County Health Department. They will be conducted for the following groups of students
- Vision Screening – grades K and 2nd; special education and students new to the school
- Hearing Screening - K and grades 1st, 2nd, and 3rd; special education and new students
If you have a student that falls into those categories and they wear glasses, please ensure they bring them to school this Wednesday, November 13. You can click the PDF below for more specific information.
