Band Blast

Good Evening JICHS Band Family,

Tuesday evening is our first spirit night. Martin's BBQ. See below for the information. You do not need to bring anything in, but just make sure you are there for JICHS Band's spirit night. 10% of your receipt will be donated to our band! Spread the word to your friends and family!

Our Fall Concert is a little over a week away. Both bands are beginning to gel with their music. We are going to have a good first performance of the year!

After much thought and discussion with Ms. Ticer and Ms. Spitzer, we have made the decision to allow students to wear costumes for the concert. If your child decides to not wear a costume, they are expected to wear their usual formal black concert dress or tux.

If they decide to wear a costume, they need to make sure it is an appropriate outfit for a concert. Please make sure you check with your student on their costume choice.

Tuesday, October 8th is our next Concert Band after-school rehearsal.

Please remember all students are expected to attend their after-school rehearsals. Because band is a co-curricular class, students will receive a grade for anything we do outside of school hours, rehearsals and concerts. Please make sure to attend all after-school rehearsals!

Monday, October 14 is our Fall Concert Dress Rehearsal. We will run through our Fall Concert with the 7th and 8th grade band students from Camp Road. We will serve pizza after the rehearsal for all the students.

Region Band Sign-ups are posted. Please encourage your student to sign up for region band auditions. If you have any questions as to what is involved in the process, please reach out and ask. The cost to audition is $12. You can send in a check (made out to JICHS Band Backers, or cash).

I will send out an email to everyone who has signed up next week to remind them about the $12 audition fee.

Deadline to sign up is October 18th.
