Message from the Principal
Hello Buckaroo Families,
We had a wet, cold wild week here at BHP! We celebrated the Chinese New Year, learned all things about hibernation and brought recess indoors!
Just a few reminders:
Breakfast - breakfast is served from 7:20-7:50. To ensure your student has time to eat, please arrive early.
Kid connection- Kid Connection students receive a snack during their time in KC, please feel free to send extra snacks to school with your child to have during KC.
Arrival- We provide curbside drop off!!
If you want to get in and out quick, we usually have no line at 7:20!! Our drop off line is the longest at 7:45. Arriving earlier rather than later allows for a quick and easy drop off. When parking and walking through the parking lot to walk your child up to the building, please be very cautious, it gets dangerous in that lot and we've had some close calls.
Science Fair Information
BHP Science Fair Night: Thursday, Feb. 6 @ 5:30-6:30 pm
Entries need to be turned in on Monday, Feb. 3. If your student can carry their project in on their own, they can bring it to school with them that morning. If you would like to come into the building and help your student set their project up, you may do that between 8:15 and 8:45. Please scan the QR code to pre-register for a visitor’s badge for set up. If you pre register, you may enter through the doors by the library. If not, please enter through the front office to have a badge printed. We will host a Science Fair Family Night on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 5:30-6:30 pm (no badge is needed to attend this event). Students may take projects home at that time.

Global School Play Day
During Global School Play Day, participants are encouraged to allow students ample time for free play without the use of screens, structured games, or adult direction. The idea is to let children explore their creativity, problem-solving skills, and social interactions in an unstructured and spontaneous environment.
We will be utilizing our Nature Play area!
District News
Parents/guardians, spring field trips are around the corner!
Parents/approved guardians can attend field trips and accompany their own students without going through the process of becoming "official" WISD volunteers.
However, if you would like to act as a chaperone on a field trip--allowing the teacher to assign a small group of students to you for monitoring/guiding on the trip--you will need to be an "official" WISD volunteer. If you haven't already done so, this is the right time to start that process! Please visit the following webpage to read about and sign up for the necessary steps to become a WISD campus volunteer and/or an off-campus field trip volunteer. Steps include a recent background search and a required 1-hour in-person training, provided by our district safety director.
Thank you for your support and generosity!! We appreciate the items purchased off of our Amazon Wishlist!
