Stevenson High School
December 06, 2024
Principal's Note:
Dear Spartans
Now that we are into December, it means that we are nearing the end of MP2 / Sem1, January 9th. CSA’s will take place Thurs 19th (Periods 1-3) and Fri 20th (Periods 4-6). These are half days of school. It is encouraged that students take advantage of Spartan Time over the next couple of weeks to seek additional supports. Additionally, we encourage students check Student Connect and talk with their teachers regarding their progress. This is also a time for students to prioritize their time to best fit their needs. We have many activities taking place over the next few weeks prior to Winter Break and when we return. Let's not forget about our academic work.
Are you looking for some events to attend this weekend?

Hey Spartans!
On Monday, December 2nd, we kicked off our 25 Days of Giving with the Stop the Music Event! 🎶
Here’s how it works: during each passing period we played the same song over and over until we hit our goal of raising $500 for Forgotten Harvest—a local non-profit that rescues and redistributes food to charities across Metro Detroit. At the end of each hallway, someone was holding a can for donations.
Food Drive Event 🥫🍞
As part of our 25 Days of Giving, the Stevenson Student Senate is hosting a Food Drive from December 2nd to December 13th to help our neighbors at His Church Anglican right next door!
We’re collecting canned and boxed food items. The 3rd-hour class that donates the most will win a prize! Let’s show our Spartan spirit and generosity during this holiday season. Every donation makes a difference, and we’re so grateful for your support!
Together, we can make this a holiday season to remember! Let’s do this, Spartans! 💙🎁

SHS ABSENCE PROCEDURES
Parents/Guardians are required to contact SHS regarding their student’s absence by completing this Report an Attendance form by 1pm on the day of the absence. If a student falsifies this information through the Google Doc or phone, the student may receive consequences.
All absences are recorded in the ParentConnect program which can be viewed by parents/guardians using the designated login. If a student has an unexcused absence in one or more hours, an automated message will be sent to the home of the student via the designated phone number or email address. Please refer to the SHS Attendance Policy.
ARRIVING LATE TO SCHOOL
Students who arrive more than ten (15) minutes late to1st hour should check-in with our security team (Blueline) or the Attendance office (main office) office. The parent or guardian should report late arrivals using the Google Doc here. Students who miss fifteen (15) minutes or more of a particular class period will be marked absent for that class.
CHECKING OUT OF SCHOOL
Students who need to check out during the school day must have a parent/guardian report their absence here to get a pass before school begins or bring a note from their parents or guardian to their Assistant Principal's office prior to their first hour. The note must contain the name of the student, date of absence, time of departure, parent signature, and contact number. Students who miss fifteen (15) minutes or more of a particular class period will be marked absent for that class. To avoid disrupting class, students checking out early should check out between classes at their assistant principal’s office. Please refer to Stevenson Bell Schedule. ALL students must check out through their Assistant Principal's office if leaving early regardless of age.
