Lincoln Lowdown- 9/3/24

Labor Day Week!
Enjoy your three-day weekend! Remember, school will be closed on Monday, Sept 2nd.
Lincoln Families,
As we conclude our first full week of the school year, I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible efforts of our students, staff, and families in making this week such a success. It’s been wonderful to see our students settling into their routines, engaging in their learning, and building connections with one another.
With Labor Day approaching, I’d like to acknowledge the importance of this holiday as a time to honor the dedication and hard work that contribute to our vibrant community. Whether it's the commitment of our teachers and staff, the support of our parents, or the enthusiasm of our students, it’s this collective effort that makes Lincoln Middle School such a special place.
I hope you all enjoy a well-deserved long weekend, filled with rest and relaxation. We’re off to a great start, and I’m excited to see what we’ll accomplish together in the weeks ahead.
Thank you for your continued support, and have a wonderful Labor Day!

Katelyn Allard, Teacher
Place of Birth: Salt Lake City, Utah
Years at Lincoln: 1
Favorite Educator: My favorite teacher was my history teacher and softball coach. He inspired me to be the best I could be, especially when life gets hard. He taught me not to take life too seriously, there is time for fun. He saw true potential in me and taught me how to believe in myself. He was an inspiration in his work and family life.
Fun Fact: I used to be sponsored to race snowmobiles up mountains
Erin Haendel, Teacher
Place of Birth: Salt Lake City, Utah
Years at Lincoln: First year at Lincoln, but many years in the district.
Favorite Educator: My favorite teacher was named Eric. What I loved about him was that he did not separate his life as a person from his role as a teacher. For instance when we were studying Vietnam, he had the whole class over to his house and we cooked a big Vietnamese meal together. It made me really respect him to know him as a whole person and meet his family and be in his home. And it made me also feel respected that he wanted to get to know his students as whole people and enjoyed us enough to have us over for dinner.
Fun Fact: I've been to (and slept in, not just driven through) 49 states. I'm still missing Alaska. I love road trips!
