Marching into Spring!

Thank you for attending conferences this past February. This was an exciting time to see the progress of each of the students at this point in the school year. Without a doubt, this time is valuable for all of us. Thank you again!

Kindergarten / Begindergarten

As a friendly reminder, we have already sent out information to our future LBW Students starting this fall. If you missed signing up or haven’t received your packet, please contact Linnea at 995-3090. We cannot wait to see our new students at the end of March for our special Jumpstart Night!

Smarter Balance

All third-fifth grade students will be taking our state test in April. As reminder, all parents in these grade levels were given information to write positive notes to our students that they will read before their first test. Please return those items to your classroom teacher by Wednesday, March 12th. Also, a detailed classroom schedule for testing was sent home by your classroom teacher. Please avoid scheduling any appointments or trips during that time if at all possible. We know our students do best when they are with their teaching in their regular routine rather than making up their tests at a later time. Thank you for your help with this.

We appreciate your efforts to continue to keep our students safe by sending their winter gear when it is appropriate. At times it is hard to know, but we want our students to be prepared. As a reminder, we do go outside for recess if it is above zero each day.

• Please call the office before 8:45 if your child is late or will not be here during the school day. 605-995-3090
• We will be distributing fliers, classroom info. and important items every Friday. Please be sure to check your child's backpack.
• If you have a new phone number or address, please update your information in the office. This includes work phone number, personal phone numbers, and emergency contacts. When we have an urgent situation, it is vital that we are able to contact a parent. Sending a note with your child works, as does calling the office. Thanks in advance.
• Winter is here! Our weather can change quickly in the state, so we want to be prepared for an emergency dismissal. Please be sure that we have updated information in the office as to what your plans will be in the case of an emergency early dismissal. For example, if your student typically rides the bus, we need to know if you want them to ride the bus if we dismiss early. Thanks for keeping up informed!

L.B. Williams Alumni Scholarship

To be eligible for the scholarship, a student must be a graduating senior at Mitchell Senior High, have attended L.B. for at least 3 years and be pursuing any higher level of education upon graduation. Stop in the LBW office and pick up an application. Applications are due April 1st.
