Calling All Students for WIN Wednesday!
Students can benefit from an opportunity for academic support every Wednesday afternoon from 2:40pm – 4:15pm in the flex room located in the learning commons. Students are supported to complete their schoolwork learning in a supervised setting. In addition students can also utilize the WIN program to make up tests they may have missed. Students can get this approved through their teacher ahead of time and the test will be ready for them to take during WIN. Faculty and staff are available along with upper-class peer tutors (especially skilled in Mathematics). Students will identify their priorities (“What I Need” or “What’s Important Now”), create a plan for the most efficient use of their time, celebrate their accomplishments, and leave with a plan for continued success. Students do not need to sign up in advance for WIN Time. We do ask that students plan to be there for the start at 2:40pm so they can benefit from the full support. We will keep a log of students and their engagement (arrival/departure time and their focus/work while they are there). For students needing transportation home, activity buses will be available departing at 4:45pm.

New: Congratulations, EVHS Speech
Congratulations to the Eastview Speech Team for an outstanding weekend at the Barkley Forum for High Schools, held this weekend at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. This is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the country; this year's edition hosted students from 206 schools, coming from 28 different states.
All three Eastview competitors reached elimination rounds at the tournament. Headlining Eastview's showing was Sahiti Atluri, who was named tournament champion in Humorous Interpretation (improving upon last year's 5th place performance). Sahiti also finished as a semifinalist in Program of Oral Interpretation. In addition, the Duo Interpretation team of Maxwell Espena and Nina Galindez finished as semifinalists, narrowly missing advancement to the final round.
Of special note, Eastview High School was announced as a new Chair/Member School of the Barkley Forum. This distinction "is a way of honoring quality performance; schools are considered for membership [only after multiple] years of better than average performance. We've only attended this tournament for three years; this is fun recognition of Eastview's success at the tournament.
Congratulations to our three representatives at the tournament and to their coach, Brady Beckman.
