Principal's Update
Hello Leopard Families-
It's hard to believe that we are entering our final week of the school year! Thank you for your partnership and collaboration to make this a memorable year at England!
Career Week:
Thank you to our counselors for organizing our England Career week! We enjoyed hearing from parents/family members, local community members, and students who are part of the CTC programs at McNeil High School. We appreciate all those who participated in making this a great experience for our Leopards.
Class of 2024 Senior SPOTlight:
We can't believe it's already time for our fifth class of Leopards to graduate high school! These 130ish smart & sweet students were our fabulous 5th graders in 2016-17. They helped us learn, grow, and build our foundation as a school, and they continue to pioneer and pave the way as they graduate and pursue their dreams. Many of them started with us as 1st graders in our first year open; 2012-13!
As a way to honor our seniors, we'd love to hear from all of them and give them a virtual high-five and internet shoutout!
Can you please help us spread the word to our Class of 2024 students about this opportunity?

We're also asking our seniors to please mail us a graduation invitation/announcement with pictures! We will be making a Graduate Wall with the announcement for display when you come for your Senior Walk in May.
Please mail announcements & photos to Elsa England Elementary, c/o Emily Kupersztoch, 8801 Pearson Ranch Road, Austin, 78717. You can also drop one off at the school if that's easier. We hope your seniors will return to Elsa England in their cap and gown on Tuesday, May 21st for our Senior Graduation Walk & Reception!
The walk will take place at 8:30. We'd love to see our seniors walk the halls of their elementary school one final time so we can celebrate with them in person!
Dismissal Process:
Thank you for your support, patience, and feedback as we refined our dismissal process. We anticipate it will take a few more days for us to get the system running to its full potential. Your feedback will be valuable during this time.
A few requests/reminders:
- Students are released at the 2:55 bell.
- Please pull to the cone where you see your child waiting.
- Display your placard with the number where we can easily see it, such as on the windshield or window. (This allows us to quickly call out the number for your child to begin making their way to their zone.)
- If you do not have a placard, please reach out to your child's teacher.
- If your child is a part of a regular carpool, we can assign your whole group a number. If this would be helpful to you, please use this form to request one:

We have already seen many positive impacts on student safety and comfort due to this shift in our process. Thank you for your feedback and partnership as we pilot this system.
Fifth Grade Graduation:
We look forward to celebrating our 5th graders on Wednesday, at 8:00 A.M., in the cafeteria. Due to seating limitations, each student will be limited to two guests. If you have a special circumstance and need additional seats, please communicate this with your teacher as soon as possible. All school visitors must sign in and obtain a visitor badge from the office. In order to streamline this process, the fifth grade team is sending an RSVP form so we can have your visitor badge prepared for you on Wednesday morning. (Please still bring your ID to check in.) If you have not had your ID scanned through our Raptor system, you will want to arrive when doors open at 7:15 A.M. or have it scanned prior to Wednesday morning.
Please make sure to give yourself plenty of time to park and find a seat. We will begin promptly at 8:00.
The ceremony will be followed by a reception in the A-Wing common area. Festivities should conclude by 10:30. Students are encouraged to wear ceremony-appropriate clothing.
Last Day of School:
Our grade level end of year celebrations will take place on the last day of school on Thursday, May 23rd. Classroom teachers have shared details in their weekly newsletters. If you plan to attend, please plan to arrive in plenty of time to check in through the front office with your ID. We expect a large volume of visitors and appreciate your support as we get everyone checked in.
We look forward to enjoying our final week of the 2023-2024 school year with our Leopards!
In partnership,
Krystall Williams
