#TVStrong Strength Teamwork Respect Open-Minded Noble Goals
To the Thompson Valley High School Community,
It is with a full heart and deep gratitude that I write to formally announce my retirement as Principal of Thompson Valley High School, effective June 30th, 2025. This decision comes after much reflection, and while it is not easy to step away from a place that has meant so much to me, I am filled with pride and appreciation for the years I have spent with this incredible school.
Serving as Principal of Thompson Valley has been the honor of my professional life. I have had the privilege of working alongside a dedicated and talented team of educators, staff, students, and families who care deeply about learning, growth, and community. Together, we have celebrated triumphs, navigated challenges, and built a school culture grounded in excellence, compassion, and resilience.
What makes Thompson Valley truly special is its people—the heart of this school beats with the passion and spirit of those who walk its halls. I have been inspired every day by our students’ curiosity, courage, and kindness. They are the reason I have loved coming to work every morning.
Though I am retiring from my position, I will never stop cheering for this school and all those who make it so exceptional. I look forward to seeing Thompson Valley continue to grow and thrive, and I am confident that its future is as bright as ever.
Thank you for the countless memories, the trust, and the opportunity to be a part of something so meaningful. I will always carry Thompson Valley High School in my heart and in my soul.
With deep appreciation,
Jaymie Cruickshank
Principal, Thompson Valley High School

Access CMAS Score Reports
Access your student’s CMAS score reports through CDE Family Portal in June
We are so proud of how much our students have learned and grown this school year!
In April, students had the opportunity to showcase their learning and skills on the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) tests, and they did an amazing job!
We’re excited to share that your child’s preliminary CMAS performance report will be available online on June 11 through the CDE Family Portal. This new, secure platform provides an easy way to view important information about your child’s academic progress based on the only assessments given to all Colorado students that measure what students should know and be able to do at the end of each grade.
Here’s How You Can Access Your Child's CMAS Report
Visit the CDE Family Portal: https://familyportal.pearson.com/CO
You’ll need the following information to log in:
Student’s State ID (SASID) – This is found at the top of your child's CMAS score report from last year. You can also find your Student’s State ID on your Student’s Profile page within your TSD Parent Portal.
Student’s Legal Last Name
Student’s Legal First Name
Student’s Date of Birth
What You’ll Find in the Report
The preliminary report will include your child's score and performance level. Later in June, a final report will be available with additional details, including:
A breakdown of strengths and areas for growth
Comparisons of your child's performance to their peers at the school, district, and state levels
Tips for supporting your child’s learning at home
Helpful resources like a video guide and a detailed explanation document will also be available in the Family Portal to assist you in understanding the results.
CMAS Scores Are One Piece of the Puzzle
CMAS scores provide valuable insights about your child’s academic journey based on Colorado’s grade-level expectations. We encourage you to view them alongside classroom grades and teacher feedback for a more complete picture of your child’s progress. Please take a few minutes to review your child’s results and celebrate their hard work!

Las Artes y Culturas de México
This is the first year for the new course Las Artes y Culturas de México, and we are very excited and proud of the students' work and effort this year and all of us have grown together. This Spanish enrichment class was created for Spanish-speaking heritage students, Spanish-speaking English Language Development students, Dual Language Immersion students, and upper-level students in traditional language classes. The course focuses on the art, cultural, and socio-political history of Mexico from pre-Columbian civilizations through contemporary times. Although the main focus is Mexico, connections are made throughout the course to the common history shared by Latin America and the students' personal histories. The overarching theme for the course is identity and how it is shaped by art, culture and socio-political environments and movements. This year, we have studied the following: Social, Political and Cultural Topics Pre-Columbian Cultures of Mexico: the Olmec, the Maya, and the Aztec The Spanish Conquest and Colonization The Caste System, social hierarchy and mestizaje of culture The Independence Movement and the Development of Mexican Identity Contemporary Mexican Life Art Movement Topics Pre-Columbian Indigenous Art European Influence: Baroque and Rococo styles Syncretism and Novohispano Art Caste Painting Poster Art Muralism Urban Art Contemporary Art
