Principal Update
What an incredible year it’s been! Thank you for making my very first year as principal at Rose such a joyful, memorable, and fun adventure. From spirit days and lunches in the courtyard to 5th grade basketball and everyday moments of kindness, I’ve loved every minute of being part of this amazing school. I feel so lucky to call Rose home!
To our 5th graders—congratulations! We will miss you, but we’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see what you do in middle school. To our rising 5th graders—you’ve got big shoes to fill, and we look forward to seeing you step into your role as leaders of our school. Use the time over the summer to think about what you want your legacy to be.
There will be some exciting changes to the building over the summer, and we’re especially looking forward to welcoming everyone back in August with a brand-new playground!
Wishing you all a safe, joyful, and restful summer. See you soon, Stingrays!
Best,
Dr. Ruesch

The Stingrays who earned this recognition are Anika, Elizabeth, Saakaar, and Addie! Students who scored in the top 10% received a National Honor Roll certificate and a medal. The Stingrays who earned this recognition are Ilias, Ry, Ali, Naya, Ethan, and Ansh! Naya was also the class winner. In addition, the Rose team was awarded the Team Achievement Award for finishing in the top 10% of all competing teams.
Congratulations to everyone for all their hard work! Your Rose School community is proud of your effort!
4th and 5th Grade Math Competition-Spring Noetic
The 4th and 5th grade Extended Math students competed in two math contests this year. The CML Contest consisted of a series of five contests across several months. Each student's scores were added up to create an individual cumulative score. They all worked hard, and the top three places in 5th grade were: 3rd place- Parker, tied for 2nd place- Mayuri and Arth, and in 1st place- Devin. The top three places in 4th grade were: 3rd place- Bryce, 2nd place- Kush, and 1st place- Shreyas. Congratulations to all the hardworking team members!
The other contest these students competed in was the Math Olympiad for Elementary and Middle Schools. Approximately 90,000 students competed in this contest from all over the world! The 4th and 5th graders competed together as one team in this contest. In addition to the various individual awards, they earned the High Achievement Award because they scored in the top 11-19% of the competing teams, which is a big accomplishment considering 4,077 teams were competing. All 5th grade Rose students finished in the top 20% in the individual competition. Two students, Arth and Kush finished in the top 10%! Devin was our overall team winner and finished in the top 2%!
Rose is so proud of all these Stingrays and their effort this year. Congratulations!

5th Graders--Let's Read This Summer!
The BMS 2025 Summer Reading Challenge embraces the theme Find Your Next Chapter, encouraging students to dream big, explore new ideas, and grow through the power of reading.
Read at Least Two Novels: Explore the wide world of literature and choose at least two novels that delve into the theme of friendship. Choose books that spark your individual interests and discover the stories that resonate most with you.
Share Your Experience: At the beginning of the 2025-26 school year, be ready to share your favorite moments and what you've learned about friendship through these stories.
Summer Library
The Rose School Library will be open to Barrington 220 families during the month of June.
On Wednesdays, from 1:00 to 3:00, students can hear a staff member read aloud, play games, do an activity and, of course, check out library books! All activities will take place in the library.
Stop by on June 4, 11, 18 and 25!
This is not a drop off event. Students must be accompanied by a caregiver. Due to construction, the library will not be open in July or August.
Back to School Bash
The Willow Creek Back to School Bash will be held on Thursday, July 24th, and Friday, July 25th, from 3-8pm. The goal is to provide families in need in our community with free backpacks, school supplies, clothing, hair cuts, dental exams, and more so that students can walk into their classrooms feeling confident as they begin a new school year.
