Banyan Bulletin
Parent Newsletter for Banyan Elementary School - 6/7/24
Principal's Pen
This bulletin will be the last one for the year since next week is the last full week of school. Please make sure to look at the calendar below, or the website, for the final events for the year. As you can see, it will be a busy couple of days. Please keep in mind that the last two days (6/19 and 6/20) of school are single session days with dismissal at 12:30 PM. For those of you who will not be here for ESY, I look forward to seeing you in September. For my ESY friends, I can't wait for our summer fun to start on July 1st. (Student schedules will go home at the end of June.) For friends that are moving on to new places, it has been an honor to be part of your lives at Banyan.
I'd like to congratulate all of our students for doing a fabulous job during this week's concert. It was wonderful to see the singing, instrumental work and dancing. Thanks to Ms. Mastrolia, Mrs. Krapels, Ms. Morales, as well as the other staff involved for working with the students to coordinate a wonderful celebration of this work.
The children had a great time at our school-wide trip to Liberty Science Center this week. I posted pictures below. There is more footage on the Banyan Instagram and Facebook pages as well. Make sure to follow us there if you have not.
Field Day is next Tuesday. Please make sure to dress your child appropriately (Banyan shirts would be awesome) and put sunscreen on them before they come to school since they will be outside for most of the day. In addition, please send them in with a refillable water bottle so we can keep them hydrated.
Eighth grade families, I wanted to make sure you are thinking about our upcoming graduation. It will take place on June 19th at 1:30 PM. The rest of the students will leave the school at 12:30 PM due to the single session day. We will provide pizza for our 8th graders for lunch and then get ready for the ceremony. The ceremony will be held in O'Connor Hall and families can start arriving at 1:15 PM.
