Career Spotlight: Real Estate
Are you interested in a career in real estate? Illinois requires aspiring real estate agents to complete 90 hours of pre-licensing education from an Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)-approved provider. This education covers topics such as real estate principles, practices, laws and ethics. It's advised to regularly check the IDFPR website for any updates or changes to the licensing process. Additionally, you may want to consider additional courses or designations to enhance your skills and marketability as a real estate professional. The College of Lake County has a real estate program. While it is not necessary to have a 4-year Bachelor's degree, here is a list of universities who have real estate programs. This list is a helpful place to start, but it does not include all schools that have an undergraduate major/minor/certificate (i.e. University of Miami in Ohio and Drexel University in Pennsylvania). It is recommended to also check in SchooLinks.
