Happy (almost) May and to the rush to the end of the semester. With the month of May comes many exciting events but also a long list of "must do" items. Please find a few reminders here to add to that list. Have a great week!
Summer Music Educators Workshop
Have you registered yet? If not, do so today and check that off the list! I know it is difficult to think about attending a day of professional development while wrapping up the year, but this is always a great way to start the next year!
See you on July 13th!
Advocacy Challenge
This week's advocacy challenge wraps up the year and sets the stage for another positive year in the fall.
- Email your school board with a quick thank you and update on your program’s achievements this year.
All-State Auditions
Just a reminder that audition music is now posted on the NMMEA website. Please make sure students have the information before summer break. Additionally, Vocal Jazz audition music can be purchased directly from Musicality.
Please note a slight change was made on the length of the choral audition piece.
Marching Band Heat Awareness
I know, not more information about marching band, but this information can be obtained pool side this summer before marching band starts in the fall. Click here for great information about rehearsing in the heat and how to keep students well and safe.
Honor Ensembles
Have you started gathering materials to submit to be considered for a 2025 Conference Honor Ensemble? If not, start today and remember the June 1st deadline! More information can be found in the handbook and the application can be found on this page of the website.

This event is shaping up to be an amazing inaugural event with a great panel of adjudicators and more than 30 bands currently registered. Don't miss out on the May 1st deadline for performance order. Of course you can register after May 1st, but will be placed at the beginning of your class. See you on October 26th!
