TK & Kinder Families,

Thank you for trusting the Murdock Learning Community with your child(ren). We all know what an honor it is to be a part of your child's education and it is a role that we feel privileged to have.

For those of you whom I haven't yet met, this is my third year as Principal at Murdock. This will be my 9th year in a school leadership position. Prior to being a school leader I was a classroom teacher. I taught Kindergarten, 4th, 5th and 6th grade.

My commitment to providing exemplary education to all students is what drives me to get up everyday and arrive at school with a smile on my face. I was raised by parents who are just as committed to giving back to their community as I am. My mother is a life-long educator, and one of my favorite years teaching was when I taught kindergarten in the classroom next door to her. My father has always been my biggest cheerleader and, who along with my mother, raised me to see the positive in any situation. My husband and I are committed raising our two young children to have the same passion for education that we both have. My background along with my daily positive experiences as a school leader propels me towards every challenge with confidence and excitation.

August 1 - Office Reopens to the Public (7:25 am - 3:00 pm)

August 6 - TK/KN Orientation & Find Out Teacher Assignment at 4 pm

August 7 - PTA Back to School Picnic at 4 pm

August 8 - 1st Day of School

August 13 - First early dismissal at 1 pm

August 15 - PTA General Assembly at 4:30 pm

August 15 - Back to School Night at 5 pm

On August 6th we are hosting a TK & Kinder Orientation! This is an opportunity for students and families to visit campus, learn about Murdock and meet our TK & Kinder team.

At 4pm on August 6th you are invited to meet in the Auditorium where you will collect important orientation handouts as well as learn who your child's teacher is.

After a short presentation families will head to the classrooms where they will be greeted by the classroom teacher who will share important information with families.

After the classroom orientation families are invited back to the auditorium to meet other families and learn more about the PTA.

Parking for the event will be on the lower field lot. The Avenida Gregory entrance will not be open. The event is expected to run until 5:30pm.

More information about the first day of school will be shared later this week.

On Thursday, August 1st, Our Kinder team is hosting another opportunity for families to come and have their child assessed before school starts. This is a quick academic assessment that helps up build balanced classes. If you participated in one of these sessions already you do not need to sign up again.
