Week of September 1
THANK YOU!! π
We appreciate our Bethel families!
πThank you very much for your support and our great start to school! Our families are by far the best in the world and our staff truly appreciates your support and help during these first couple weeks of school. It's going to be a great year, and with us all working together, our students are going to go FAR!!
No School Tomorrow, Monday, September 2nd
Happy Labor Day!
There will be no school tomorrow due to the Labor Day Holiday. We will look forward to seeing our students back on Tuesday, September 3rd!
Chocolate Fundraiser Update π«
Thanks for supporting our Fundraiser! We will be selling until September 17th!
We have had an amazing response to our chocolate fundraiser so far! Thanks for supporting this great cause and helping our school get the technology and resources your children need to be successful!!
Our PTO does an amazing job taking care of collecting the money, getting you more chocolate when needed, and taking care of all of the details that will make our fundraiser successful. With that being said, please contact them at bethelelementaryptorocks@gmail.com or you can text our PTO president, Josie Rathbone, at 828-550-8422 (this was given with her permission :). Our teachers are working hard to help your students learn during the school day and don't always have the answers when it comes to the fundraiser. Thanks for contacting PTO directly if you have a need or a question.
Thanks again for selling!!
Hat Days for a Good Cause π©ππ€ π§’
Every Friday in September
As many of you know, here at the beginning of the year, two of our families have faced major tragedies. Our third grader, Adelyn Luther, is continuing to heal at home from multiple injuries she sustained on the first day of school when she was involved in a car accident that took her grandmother's life. Also, another third grader, Liam Lafalce, is improving each day, but has a long road to go at the Augusta Burn Center, along with his mom, Stephanie, who saved his life from their home that caught fire and burned to the ground, causing them to lose everything. Thankfully, the older brother in 4th grade made it out safely and is staying with family members during this time.
The Bethel community is so caring and wonderful - especially during times of need. Our school has done several things for these families, but we wanted to do something collectively as a school. Each Friday in September, students can donate $1 and wear a hat to school. They don't have to wear a hat to donate to this fund, but it will be a fun way to collect money to help both of them with medical expenses and things they may need during this difficult time.
Speaking of hats, students can wear their hats to school, during recess, and for special occasions like hat days or earned rewards from their teachers, but when they are in the building, unless a teacher gives them permission to wear them in their classroom, they will be asked to take them off. Thank you!
Open House is September 17 π
Meet us in the gym at 5:30 PM
We are very excited about our Open House on Tuesday, September 17th! We will begin in the gym at 5:30 pm. During the short meeting there, we will be giving away the amazing grill below, along with several Bethel ByPass passes, and gift cards. We hope every student's family can attend! Students will have the opportunity to take their families to their classroom and share the great things they have been doing these first weeks of school. We are also working on a dinner option through our cafeteria and will keep you posted on that. We look forward to having all of our Bethel families with us on this special night!!
Books on Break Survey
All of our students took home 10 books in May with the wonderful Books on Break program. The central office would like our parents to fill out a survey about the program. Thanks for taking time to do this! Below is the survey in both English and Spanish.
MClass Assessments Completed by Tuesday
Our first reading MClass assessments will be completed by the end of the day on Tuesday. This data will help us ensure that your children are receiving the interventions and reading instruction that is right for them. They will be assessed with this measure again at the middle of the year.
