Carnegie Chronicle
November 2024
Note from the Director
Hello everyone,
I said it last month, and I'll say it again: So much is happening at your library right now! Things look different around here, as we have been busy with what I call "The Great Collection Migration." With the ongoing book sale housed in the Friends Room (192-B aka the old meeting room), we have moved the audiobook collection into the Media Center. This has allowed for much-needed shifting of the book collections upstairs to give them more breathing room. It's complex, so I won't list all the changes here, but please ask at the main desk if you need help finding anything while you browse!
We are gearing up for the holidays, and are participating in the city-wide theme of "A Boardgame Christmas" for our window display, parade vehicle, Crescent Tree Forest entry, and annual children's party!
Please read on and see the graphics below for details.
All my best,
Christina Danos
Please Note:
The Media Center and Book Sale Room will be without power on Wednesday, November 27th, while we get our solar panels hooked up to the electricity. You may still check out items, but patron computer usage will be limited to the 15-minute computer in the main building. As always, the WiFi will also be available in the main building for visitors with their own devices.
November Sweater Drive
Donate new or gently worn sweaters and other cold-weather clothing to the collection boxes in either library building by the end of the month to help our neighbors stay warm this winter.
Two designs of Holiday Cards are on sale now!
The prices are $12.50 for a 10-pack, and $22.50 for a 20-pack. Stop by either library building and stock up for your holiday mailing needs!
