Dear Avon Lake City Schools Families,
Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, November 27th, through Friday, November 29th, the Avon Lake City Schools will be closed in honor and recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday. On behalf of the Board of Education and the administrative team in our district, I wish you all a restful and joyous break from school, with a hope that you truly have the opportunity to express your gratitude to friends and family and how much they mean to you.
Our school family can be at times as important to me as my personal family. That’s why I feel strongly in sharing with you in the midst of the ALCS making challenging decisions, our leadership team is working closely and diligently to minimize their impact. As the Avon Lake City Schools works through this difficult moment, we are thankful to the community for their continued support and patience in navigating these times. I remain hopeful for your continued grace and the shared belief that we are truly stronger when working together.
While we may not fully agree on these difficult decisions, I think we are unified in our shared appreciation of the ALCS community. Consequently, I express my gratitude to our administrative team and building principals for the chance to lead this wonderful team… I share my heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Avon Lake City Schools for the dedication to do as our vision statement prompts and inspire resilient students to achieve meaningful and successful lives and contribute to the future success of our community… to our families and stakeholders, for their support… and finally to the students, who demonstrate the independence and pursuit of their own career and life paths. Combined, your tireless work positions us for becoming an ALite school district.
