School Safety Update
To enhance the safety of our students, your children, and our staff, we ask for your cooperation with a few important procedures:
Please Do Not Hold Doors Open: You may have noticed new signs at our entrances requesting that visitors do not hold doors open for others. Please refrain from doing so, as it helps maintain building security.
Early Dismissals: If you are picking up your child early, they will meet you at the front doors for dismissal.
Picking Up a Sick Child: If your child is feeling unwell, please proceed to the nurse's office for pick-up.
We appreciate your continued support in keeping our school community safe.

Hello Luce Families!
Book lovers Unite because the book fair is back!! Let's gooooooo! :) It will kick off on Monday, October 28th and continue through Friday, November 1st! Students in grades 1-5 will visit the fair at their regular library time. Our kindergarten friends are invited to visit the fair during our family event on Wednesday, October 30th from 3:30pm - 7pm. Learn more HERE
100% of all proceeds made at our book fair go toward the purchase of new books for our library! For an entire week, the Luce is abuzz about books!! Our kids are busy exploring the flyer, pencils in hand, excitedly circling what they hope to purchase. They are seeing that books are not something to be dreaded, nor viewed as mandatory and difficult but instead, books are desirable, talked about, and treasured!
If you want to see all the magic happen first hand, help our littles through the struggle of making a budget work and how to calculate tax please consider signing up for a time slot below. You will not regret seeing the excitement on our kids’ faces as they pick out the perfect adventure to take home. Please make sure you have an up to date CORI on file or you will not be able to participate. I thank you all in advance! If you have any questions please reach out to Mrs. Carty at Cartyj@cantonma.org.

Nurse Bonner's Nifty Notes
Here are reminders of some common illnesses that are circulating in our community. Please be mindful of signs and symptoms that your child may be exhibiting.
Vomiting and Diarrhea
This illness is likely to be caused by a virus known as Norovirus. Fortunately, people with norovirus usually recover quickly with rest and hydration. There are actions you can take to help limit the spread of the illness, even if your child is not experiencing symptoms. Wash hands often and stay home if you are sick.
Coughs and Colds
Although the rates of influenza, COVID 19 and RSV are at a low, flu surveillance, we have seen many colds and coughs. The cold weather is approaching, keep yourself protected and healthy. Cough and Colds
Please reference our Canton Public Schools guidelines that can be found here. If you receive a telephone call from the school advising that your child is not well, please arrange to pick up your child as soon as possible.

Demographic Verification and District Permissions
Dear Families,
We are pleased to inform you that the PowerSchool Parent/Guardian Portal is now open for you to review and update your demographic information, as well as manage media, handbook and device permissions for your student. This process will help ensure that your contact information is current and that you’ve provided the necessary permissions for the use of media and technology in our educational programs.
To assist you with this process, we have created a series of helpful slides and a video that guide you step-by-step through updating your information in PowerSchool. These resources are available to help make the process as simple and straightforward as possible. And, please see a summarized set of steps to follow in the graphic below to access the Demographic Verification and CPS Handbook
Please take a moment to complete these updates as soon as you are able. Should you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out—we are here to support you.
If you have any problems logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal system, adding another student to your PowerSchool account, or you’d like your student(s)’ Access ID and Password re-sent, please submit your issue on THIS GOOGLE FORM. A member of our tech team will respond back within 48 hours.
Thank you, as always, for your cooperation and commitment to our school community. Warm regards,
