Dublin High School Newsletter
Week of September 23, 2024
Message from the Principal
Dear Students, Staff, and School Community,
I hope this message finds you well and thriving as we continue an exciting and productive school year. I want to take a moment to highlight some important recent events and opportunities that demonstrate our commitment to preparing our students for the future.
Last week, we had the honor of hosting the College and Career Academy Industry Appreciation Breakfast right here on campus. This event, sponsored by our dedicated College and Career Pathway teachers and students, brought together local businesses and industry leaders to recognize their invaluable contributions to our students' education and career readiness. The collaboration between our school and the business community is vital to the success of our College and Career Academy, and we are proud of the hard work our students put into making this event a success.
Additionally, this week, I had the opportunity to attend a very productive meeting with members of the Charter System Foundation of Georgia to discuss the formation of the I-16 and I-95 Consortium which consist of representatives from Hyundai/KIA, the Technical College of Georgia, Ryan Waldrep of Dublin Laurens Economic Development Authority, Ben Lanier, CEO of the College and Career Academy, and our Superintendent, Dr. Fred Williams. This partnership between Dublin City Schools and other charter school districts along the I-16 and I-95 corridor opens up exciting new career opportunities for Dublin High School students. With the development of the new Hyundai/KIA near Savannah and along with other industries, we are exploring what opportunities exist for our Dublin High School students now and in the future, particularly in fields such as manufacturing, engineering, and technology. Our goal is to ensure that our students are “work force ready” and well-prepared to take advantage of the high-demand jobs that will be available in our region.
These events and ongoing collaborations with local and regional employers highlight the strength of our community and how “collaborative communication among all stakeholders is vital to a strong school district.” I am incredibly proud of the progress we are making and excited about the future.
Thank you for your continued support of Dublin High School. Together, we are building a brighter future for our students.
Warm regards,
Michael Overstreet

NEW BUS TIMES FOR DUBLIN HIGH SCHOOL & HILLCREST ELEMENTARY BUS 2419
Starting Monday, September 23rd, Bus 2419 will begin its bus route earlier than
normal leaving the Bus Shop to start the route beginning at 6:20AM. Please make
sure your child is at the bus stop 10 minutes before the normal time. This will
mean your child’s pick up time will be 10 minutes earlier than it has been in the
past. We are adjusting the times due to the length of the route, and to ensure all
students get to school safe and in a timely manner. These times are much earlier
times than you have been accustomed to. Being that this bus also has a Hillcrest
route each morning, this move will get those students to school earlier as well.
Again, starting this coming Monday, September 23rd, Bus 2419 start times will
begin earlier than normal. If you have any questions, you may call 478-353-8420.
As always, thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding!
Sincerely,
Transportation Department

Students choose to simultaneously earn a high school diploma and a college Associate of Applied Science Degree, Technical Diploma, an approved program that leads to licensure, or two (2) approved Technical Certificates of Credit (TCC’s) in a specific career pathway. Accelerated Career students will utilize the “ACE” Grant to cover their pathway of choice, and must be enrolled in a TCSG institution.
