Buddy Celebration
We're incredibly proud of our students for consistently meeting our monthly behavior goals! This month's special celebration involved our buddy classes, where students shared their gratitude and created leaves for our school's thankful tree.
Our buddy program is a beloved tradition that fosters empathy, mentorship, and social-emotional growth. Younger students benefit from the guidance and role modeling of older peers, while older students develop leadership skills and a deeper understanding of their own knowledge. These cross-age interactions boost motivation, improve academic performance, and create lasting bonds that enrich the entire school experience. It's truly heartwarming to witness these intergenerational connections.
SOS Club
Our dedicated SOS Club (Service Over Self) continues to make a significant impact on our community. They recently organized a successful fundraiser to support families affected by the devastating hurricane. In the coming month, the club will partner with the Village of Palatine, Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County, and Elgin Recycling to launch a Holiday Light Recycling Program. This initiative offers KH families a convenient opportunity to drop off their broken string lights and extension cords at school, which will then be delivered to the Village of Palatine for proper recycling. The program will run from now until January 31, 2025.
Polar Painting- December 4th
Join us on for a night with Thrown Elements Pottery to create your own ceramic masterpieces! This is a drop in event - no registration required! Students can purchase ornaments ($15), tiles ($22), plates ($27) or mugs ($25) to paint. Thrown Elements will bring the pottery back to school once fired.Thrown Elements only takes cash! The 5th Grade Fundraising Team will also be at the event selling goodies! You can also take a sneak peek of the Kimball Hill Holiday Shop!
Book Fair
Kimball Hill Holiday Shop - December 6th
Students are invited to shop the Kimball Hill Holiday Shop on December 6th during the school day. Envelopes were sent home this week in your child’s folder. Preview the shop at: https://5208000.holidaytreasures.com
To ensure all students feel included during the holiday season, we will only be sending students who have brought money to the holiday shop. We understand that some families may have different shopping preferences, and we want to avoid any feelings of exclusion.
