Miller Weekly Update
Week of January 27, 2025
Principal's Message
Dear Miller School Community,
As we step into the second half of the school year, our Character Word of the Month: Motivation. Motivation is the driving force that empowers us to set and achieve goals, persevere through challenges, and inspire those around us. Throughout January, our teachers and staff will emphasize the importance of motivation in the classroom and beyond. Students will engage in activities and discussions designed to help them understand what motivates them and how they can harness that energy to reach their full potential. We encourage you to join us in this effort by discussing motivation at home and sharing examples from your own lives. Take a moment to reflect on what motivates you in your work, your family, and your daily life—and consider sharing those reflections with your child. These conversations can have a powerful impact and further strengthen the connection between school and home.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. Together, we can inspire our students to stay motivated, dream big, and achieve great things. Here’s to a month full of motivation and meaningful growth!
Best Wishes,
Jim Battersby

Lunar New Year with Mrs. Li's Class
This week, Mrs. Li's class had a blast learning about Lunar New Year and how it’s celebrated in different cultures. The students were thrilled to create colorful lanterns to celebrate the Year of the Snake and receive lucky red envelopes for good fortune. They discovered the special foods, traditions, and family customs that make the holiday so meaningful. The class also explored their zodiac signs and the animals that represent each year. Everyone enjoyed listening to stories, watching the dragon parade, and learning about the rich significance of this joyous celebration. It was a fun and memorable way to learn about a new culture and celebrate together!
