September Wrangler Round Up!

Hi Parents and welcome to the first parent newsletter for the 24-25 school year! We are off to a great start! I can hardly believe that we are near the halfway point in our first nine weeks! Fall is just around the corner! I want to encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns. We believe that we can best meet the needs of every students when the school and family work together as a team!

September is Attendance Awareness Month. When a student misses 3, 5, and 10 unexcused days or accumulates 5 unexcused tardies (late check-ins or early check-outs), you will receive a letter from the school that will require a meeting with the school truancy team or Child Welfare and Attendance officials.

You received a copy of the attendance policy on registration day, and it can be found on the OPSB website and in our handbook on the George Welch website to see what constitutes an excused versus unexcused absence. We understand kids get sick, tragedies occur, and events beyond our control surprise us. We will work with you when these happen to ensure your child doesn’t get behind. Every minute of every day counts. Thank you in advance for helping us!

Join us for our first PTO meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 17 at 6PM. We will share upcoming plans and events and ways you can get involved in supporting our school! Open House will follow.

It’s not too late to join PTO or join a committee. Come to the meeting to learn more about all the opportunities to support our school and the fall fundraiser. All funds we raise go back into the school.

The class with the largest percentage of attendance at the PTO meeting will get a Pizza Party! MAKE SURE YOU SIGN IN! Help your child’s class win a victory!
