I have been able to visit classrooms each day and I am pleased to report that our students - your children - are working hard to become stronger readers, writers, mathematicians, and citizens. School is not an easy setting for kids. The cultural pressures, relationship struggles, conflicts that are sure to arise, and the eustress of academic challenge all have to be navigated by students who are still at the beginning stages of learning how to manage these in their lives. This is just the reason why school is such an important part of a child's life. Learning how to navigate all of this in a healthy way is a central part of the school experience. I am thankful to be the principal of the students who attend Hess and I am so proud of them. They make me laugh and smile every day. I appreciate the joy they bring to our classrooms and hallways. I hope that during their time with us here at Hess, your children will have grown as people of character who want to work hard, treat all people with decency and respect, not be afraid of difficult things, and embrace lifelong learning.

Please help us during dismissal:

• Park behind the building near the parent pickup area or on the far side of the building (red parking spaces). The bus lot, main lot, and spaces along the playground and basketball courts are closed to parent pickup.
• Leave campus immediately after picking up your child. The playgrounds are not open to the public on school days until 6:00pm. Do not take your child to play during dismissal.
