CMS Toppers: News From the Middle!

Topper Up!
It's Super Bowl Sunday Topper families - enjoy the game and the commercials. Students - feel free to share your favorite one with staff when you come in on Monday morning!
We appreciate all family members who attended Parent Teacher Conferences - thank you for your willingness to partner with us and for your valuable time. We also want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to our Topper PTO for the delicious dinner of pasta, bread, salad, cookies, and beverages. Thanks to these great people and Bass Lake, the staff was well fed and ready to continue our day.
This past Friday (and this coming Tuesday for Fifth Grade due to indoor recess) each grade level had a follow up Student Expectations meeting with Ms. Paroubek and I. The students were attentive in listening to what we are currently seeing from them in terms of appropriate and inappropriate behaviors. It is our continued hope that each student makes the right choices and focuses on their #1 priority at CMS: learning.
To close, here is an additional Family Time statement:
Some of us took a well-deserved nap. Others enjoyed playing games. We all super appreciated an evening without stress!!
Have fun watching some pigskin...

And how about any new info for Sources of Strength? So glad you asked...this week is SPIRIT WEEK:
The 7th grade Sources of Strength peer leaders present to you the "Connect" campaign: The purpose of the Connect Campaign is to use positive social norms to break down codes of silence and secrecy, while increasing the acceptability of seeking help for one's self and for others, especially in the area of mental health. We want to normalize the idea that asking for help is a sign of Strength, not a sign of weakness, and that getting help for a friend is being a good friend. To think about CONNECTion, each day will highlight who supports us and who we are connected to. Each day will have an optional challenge/activity.

Message from Ms. Jenn in the CMS Clinic
Hello Parents
We are still seeing Flu and RSV in the school
Please review good hand washing with your kids
Please review proper cough etiquette with them as well
6th-grade parents, please remember the 7th-grade vaccines are due in August.
They are due 1 week after school starts. The 2 that are needed are tetanus and meningitis. I do look often on the State vaccine website, but not all providers are affiliated. You can always get a printout at the appointment and have your child bring it to me. If you need an exemption form, call me. I have sent a few home via email and in person with the kids. I have only received a couple back.
Please continue to call the office or me with anything that is considered contagious.
We are almost to Spring.
Thank you
Jennifer Trittschuh RN BSN LSN
