Principal's Summer Update
A Message from Dr. Nadjarian
I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the warmth and relaxation that summer brings.
Our Early Childhood team participated in the Lynch Early Childhood Summer Institute this week held at Boston Children's Museum and Holy Name School. Our faculty attended various workshops on how to support student academic and behavioral growth. I am so proud of our committed faculty who take time out of their summer schedules to continue to enrich their learning and prepare for your children!
I hope you have begun training for our very first 5K race! Not a runner? No worries, bring your walking shoes! Click on this event to save the event to your calendar! If you haven’t already signed up, you can do so using the following link: https://runsignup.com/.../StMaryoftheAssumptionSchool5K

Protecting God's Children Update
As part of our efforts to keep all our children free from abuse, the Archdiocese of Boston requires that all volunteers complete Protecting God’s Children training. Parents who may volunteer in the school also need to complete this training. The training focuses on how to create a Safe Environment for kids, how to recognize risks and indicators of abuse, and what to do if you have concerns.
To register for a training, please go to www.VIRTUSonline.org Click on “First Time Registrant” then complete the registration, selecting “Boston Archdiocese MA” as the location when asked at the beginning of the process. Once you have completed your registration you will be directed to a list of all of the upcoming trainings in the Archdiocese. You can select any training you choose unless it is specified as closed. Please note that some trainings are in languages other than English. When that is the case it will be noted.
We are offering a training here at St. Mary’s School on September 15th from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. If you can be available at that time, we encourage you to attend that session. If you cannot attend the session at St. Mary's, please find another session within the Archdiocese of Boston.
Thank you for helping us to keep all kids safe.
Introducing Nick Antonacci, Apprentice Principal
Meet Mr. Antonacci, our new apprentice principal at St. Mary’s! He previously served as a team director and Catholic missionary at Harvard University. He has a background in leadership and a deep passion for equipping each student to live a life of genuine fulfillment (intellectually, physically, and spiritually).
This summer, Mr. Antonacci has been enrolled in an intensive training course for Catholic educators through the St. Thomas More Teaching Fellowship and has been working on his Master of Education degree. For fun, he enjoys challenging anyone to a round of golf or a ping pong match. Mr. Antonacci is thrilled to be part of the St. Mary's community this year!
Professional Development Highlight
St. Mary's is welcoming Cor Creative partners to campus for our back-to-school professional development in late August. James and Maureen at Cor Creative will work with teachers spanning all grade levels, PreK-8, on topics such as curriculum mapping, equity in education, and classroom management. Groups of teachers will continue working with cor creative partners throughout the school year during our PLCS, or Professional Learning Communities. These are common planning periods where faculty meet regularly as a team along with school administration to communicate, collaborate, learn, and problem-solve. We look forward to working together!
Exciting Uniform Update!
