“Do ordinary things with extraordinary love.”
~ St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Good Afternoon IHM families,
It was so nice to see so many of you last night at our first Back to School Night, for PreK - 3rd grade. The atmosphere was very positive and I hope you gained some insights into the policies and procedures put in place to benefit your children this school year, as well as the expectations and routines explained by teachers in their sessions. We are looking forward to hosting our 4th - 8th grade parents tomorrow night!
We had an all school PBIS assembly yesterday afternoon. Mrs. Powers and Mrs. Oakley gave an interactive presentation to the students and the students were engaged and attentive. All students were reminded of IHM’s three R’s: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Ready to Learn! We are grateful to both teachers and our entire PBIS team for all the work they do in support of our students.
Next week, beginning on Tuesday, September 17th, all students in grades 2-8 will take the fall round of MAP testing. The MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) is the standard test used by the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The tests will be given in the mornings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please be sure your children have a good breakfast and arrive at school on time. Thank you in advance for setting up your students for success!
I wish you all a wonderful week as the weather begins to change and feel more like fall!
In faith and gratitude,
Ms. Surine

Middle School Choir Information
Choir begins Thursday, September 12 from 3-4 pm.
The form below MUST be filled out before a student attends an afterschool practice. Be sure to turn it in by tonight, 9/11/24, so that your child can attend our opening session on Thursday, 9/12.
If your child loves to sing, then Liturgical Music Leaders is the place for them! Our choir is open to students in grades 6-8. Participants will be a part of the choir for our weekly school Masses, including preparing multi-part harmonic meditations. Practices will be held weekly after school on Thursdays from 3-4 pm.
Please note that students do not need to demonstrate advanced skills in order to participate; the primary requirements are a willingness to learn and a positive attitude. Students who commit to the group are making a commitment for the school year and will sign a contract. If a student is interested and would like to try it out to see what it is like to participate, they are welcome to come to a practice and then make their decision.
Please contact Sr. Audrey Frances (safmoran@ihmschoolmd.org) or Mrs. Mazzulli (mmazzulli@ihmschoolmd.org) with any questions. Thank you for considering having your child involved in this wonderful ministry!

Families are encouraged to attend with their children, who will be marked "present" upon arrival at school.
