Sultan Middle School Families,
Our Fall Concert last week was a big hit! Choir started off the night with the 6th grade singing 'Spooky Scary Skeletons' and 'Purple People Eater'. 7th grade gave a smashing performance of 'Ghostbusters' and a song about Edgar Allen Poe’s creepy tales. 8th grade sang about things that go bump in the night and 'This is Halloween' featuring Annalia Day, Jay Britton, Ethan Anderson, Lucas Anderson, Sonrie Miller, Alannie Tomkins, Leo Cliffe, Audrianna Elder, and Hazel Clune. And for the grand finale, all choir students sang 'Halloween is finally here' together. Great job choir students.
Next up was Band. 6th grade band did a great job playing their first few songs including 'Hot Cross Buns' and 'Lightly Row'. 7th grade came out with a bang with songs about an 'Attack of the Cyborgs' and 'Ghosts in the Graveyard'. 8th grade band slowed it down with 'Transylvanian Lullaby' from the movie 'Young Frankenstein' and featured a trumpet solo by Aleczander Sammartano. To finish off the night, the 8th graders took off at top speed playing 'In the Hall of the Mountain King'. Congratulations to all of our SMS musicians on the first concert of the year!

Dia de los Muertos
Last week we created a special Ofrenda for Dia de los Muertos on the stage in the commons! An Ofrenda is a display set up to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. Students and staff brought in pictures to include and the beautiful display was up for the week. Thank you to our ML teacher, Hush Iweala, and our Para, Monica Avalos-Salazar, for putting this together.
