Weekly Wrap Up
Maple Place Middle School - 4/26/24 Week 32
Principal's Message :
Good Afternoon, Maple Place Families,
It's been a week full of activities here at Maple Place. The week began with Earth Day, followed by the 6th grade field trip to Medieval Times. We also got to visit the PTO sponsored Scholastic Book Fair, and we celebrated Take Your Child to Work Day. The week also brought us our first Student Council sponsored Spring Fling Dance which provided our fifth grade students with the opportunity to attend their first dance.
There are so many wonderful activities still to come at our middle school. Please make sure to check out the Weekly Wrap Up every week for all the news and updates of what is to come.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Melissa Keiser
Take Your Child to Work Day:
Yesterday we celebrated Take Your Child to Work Day at Maple Place School. It was great to see so many children of our faculty and staff walking the halls of our school and sharing the day with their parents.
Student Council Spring Fling Dance:
On Thursday, the Maple Place Student Council sponsored it's first Spring Fling Dance for students in grades 5-7. This dance was the first MP dance for our fifth graders. Fun was had by all! Thank you to Mrs. Lisotto and the Executive Board of the Student Council (Shea T., Carina R., Joey L., Alyssa T., and Bella R.) for checking the students in and out and manning the snack table.
Earth Day:
In sixth grade Science, Ms. Runko's class discussed carbon footprints and how we contribute to our carbon footprint every day. Students also proposed ways to reduce their carbon footprints, then ended class playing a Carbon Runner game. In the game, the students had to differentiate between energy that contributes to our footprint and green energy.
Medieval Times Field Trip:
On Tuesday, the sixth grade went on their field trip to Medieval Times. The students had a great time watching the jousting events and cheering on their knight. (They also had a great time in the gift shop before the show!)
