A WORD FROM WARD
Dear Lubbock Estacado Community,
As we approach a new season and school year, I want to express my gratitude for your unwavering support. Your dedication is the backbone of our success, and we will continue to take pride in representing the Eastside. Our athletes have been working tirelessly, pushing their limits, and striving for excellence both on and off the field. They are playing to embody the values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship that define Lubbock Estacado. We invite you to join us at every game, cheer for our teams, and celebrate the spirit of competition. Your presence in the stands fuels our drive and inspires us to reach new heights.
Thank you for being an integral part of our journey. Together, we will make this season and school year one to remember.
With gratitude and excitement,

STUDENT REGISTRATION
ALL STUDENTS (new and returning) ARE REQUIRED TO BE REGISTERED AND PROVIDE PROOF OF RESIDENCY EVERY YEAR. Registration is part of ensuring your student has their finalized schedule, access to their online gradebook, active student email, and any approved transfer requests. How will you register your student for the 24-25 school year
STUDENT PARKING
All student vehicles parking on the campus must obtain a parking permit to avoid getting fined and/or booted. This year, additional student parking has been added to the NORTH parking lot facing Itasca St (see PDF for details). Please complete the form below to register your vehicle. Seniors painting their spot must have the graphic approved prior to painting.
FRESHMAN ORIENTATION & PARENT MEETING
Parents are encouraged to join their 9th grader as we work to welcome our new matadors to the E. During this time you will have a chance to tour the school, meet the staff, visit your classrooms, and get signed up for organizations/clubs. The parent meeting will include a Title 1 presentation highlighting the additional opportunities provided by the Title 1 distinction.
STUDENT CHROMEBOOKS
All incoming freshman will receive a new chromebook device. This will be their device for the entirety of their high school career within LISD. Any replacement or repairs will be handled through the school and charged to the student account. Returning students will be able to pick up their chromebook through the library at the beginning of the year.
24-25 PTA
Please consider joining the Estacado PTA. Being a high school PTA member offers several advantages. You can advocate for your child's education and have a say in school decisions. PTAs also connect you with teachers and keep you informed. By joining, you contribute to a strong school community and support valuable programs for students. There are flexible volunteer opportunities to fit your schedule, and even small contributions can make a big difference.
Teachers on the Rise honors deserving teachers. This program is all about giving teachers the recognition they deserve. The teachers at Estacado work hard to create a positive learning environment and inspire their students. A nomination shows them that their efforts are appreciated. Winning teachers get gift cards and other goodies, and the students who nominate them get a prize too! So it's a win-win for everyone involved. You can nominate a teacher online at the Mrs. Baird's website. All you need to do is write a short explanation of why your teacher deserves to win. So if you have an Estacado teacher who goes the extra mile, why not take a few minutes to nominate them? It's a great way to show them how much you appreciate them
OUR CAMPUS BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS
The Estacado High School staff wants to ensure a positive and productive learning environment for all students. To achieve this, we've implemented our schoolwide behavior matrix. This is essentially a giant cheat sheet that outlines expected student behaviors in different areas of the school, like classrooms and hallways. The matrix will be displayed around the school and provided to parents so everyone is on the same page about what good behavior looks like. By working together, we can create a more positive learning experience for all Estacado students.
TIPS & TOOLS FOR PARENT ENGAGEMENT
Monitoring Student Grades
Keeping an eye on grades throughout high school is a crucial part of a parent's support system. It's like being a co-pilot on your teen's educational journey. Regular check-ins on grades can act as an early warning system. Just like a car's dashboard light, a dip in grades can signal a potential problem – a challenging subject, difficulty grasping concepts, or even personal struggles affecting focus. By catching these issues early, parents can work with teachers and their child to develop solutions, like tutoring, improved study habits, or addressing underlying anxieties. This proactive approach can prevent minor issues from snowballing into failing grades, lost credits, or missed college entrance requirements. Moreover, keeping track of grades fosters open communication. Discussing report cards allows parents to celebrate successes and offer support for areas needing improvement. This ongoing dialogue builds trust and empowers students to take ownership of their academic performance. Ultimately, monitoring grades isn't just about the numbers; it's about working together to ensure a smooth, successful high school experience.
