Notes from the Family Ambassador
Panorama Survey is now live for Columbus City Schools! This is an excellent opportunity for parents to give feedback anonymously about how they are feeling and perceiving the academics and environment is at Gables Elementary. This survey also lets us know of any barriers families may be facing from being successful. We need your input to enhance your child's school experience! Your responses are anonymous and crucial in shaping programs and services for your child and the school community. Remember, your feedback matters. I just took it as a parent, and it took about 2 minutes to complete.
Please spare about two to five minutes to take the survey, the deadline to complete is Saturday, October 19.
But why wait? Click the button below to get started.
- Select your student's school from the dropdown menu and click "Take this survey."
- Select your preferred language by clicking the dropdown menu in the upper left-hand corner of the page.
- If you have children enrolled in multiple schools, you can complete the survey for each school.
We thank you in advance for your participation! If you have additional questions about the Panorama Survey please visit the FAQ's at Whole Child Supports / Panorama (ccsoh.us) which has a plethora of information. We love to learn. Go get'em Gators!

STAFF CORNER
Parent Request- Extra Clothes for Kindergarten to Second Grade
Hello K-2 Gables Families.
To make sure that your child feels comfortable throughout the day, we kindly ask that you begin to pack an extra set of clothes in their backpack, just in case of any unexpected accidents. We find we especially need a set of pants and underwear included. Having a change of clothes on hand will help us keep your child feeling confident and at ease. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
While we do have some clothes at the school for emergencies we are lacking in the smaller sizes at the moment. If you would like to make a donation to the clothes closet, we are in need of boys and girls' underwear and pants in smaller sizes.
School Counselor Update
Happy Autumn! We are up and running and have a lot going on in the counseling department. Starting with "Lead for Good"; this is a service group that takes place with our fifth-grade students teaching them service above self. We are also starting some new groups for students like "Big Feelings" and "Tattling".
In the classroom, we have been discussing anger (Kindergarten), identifying feelings (Grade 1 and 2), looking at our triggers and what to do about it (Grade 3 and 4) and grit and perseverance (Grade 5). As always, your children AMAZE me!
Also, let's congratulate our awesome "Student of the Month" Gators!
For September our character trait focus was time management. These students went above and beyond and were chosen by their teachers because they had excellent skills in time management! For October our character trait is Consideration, let's see it Gators!
Kindergarten: Jesse and Aina
Grade 1: Cody and Adam
Grade 2: Emma, Harleen, and Pranav
Grade 3: Pranika, Jack and Monica
Grade 4: Manha, Elrad and Talia
Grade 5: Vanessa and Daniel
Enjoy the cool temperatures! Let's lead with consideration this month!

IDEAS LIKE THIS...
There’s so much to love about fall in Ohio! With all of the pumpkin patches, apple orchards, back to school/sports events, and fall fun, it’s easy to stay busy. But don’t forget to stop and smell the autumn air and take in the beautiful fall color as the leaves change in Ohio!
With the cooler temps coming, the trees are about to transform with an explosion of vibrant red, orange and yellow fall leaves.
We can never predict the weather, but we can expect the leaves to change in October before we get sucked into the long, cold gray of winter in Ohio.
Make sure you enjoy the autumn colors and fall leaves while you can!
