TWB BAND GALA NEWSLETTER #2

The Band Gala committee met last night and came up with a wish list of a couple things we're hoping the TWB parents might be able to help us find. If you could please help us out by sending a big email that would be great! We are looking for the following items:

• 2-3 10X10 Red or maroon canopies (we need them all to be the same color)
• Party lights/ Rolling lights that sit on the floor (no strobe lights)
• Red carpet (we've heard some of the elementary schools might have them)
• Extension cords
• Power strips

**Any of the above items that are donated should have the person's name on it so we know who to return the item(s) to when the Band Gala is over.

We need band photos for our video slide show. Please click the form below and upload photos from this year! IF YOU DON'T ADD YOUR PHOTO, ALL YOU WILL SEE ARE PICTURES OF ME....and I really like selfies.

Seniors, we need a couple photos from you.

• Baby photo
• Senior photo (we have your cap and gown photo)

Senior Parents,

After 7 years of band, this is our last Band Gala. All are welcome. We will be celebrating our seniors in several ways.

One way is that we will have a Senior Walk highlighting pictures of our seniors. We need your help to represent your senior.

• Please put together a collage on a foam board no larger than 24” X 36”.
  
• This collage can have pictures of your senior throughout the years.
• You can choose pictures that show their age progression, their band progression, their high school progression, etc.
• Please only use a foam board (Dollar tree carries black and/or white).
• Please avoid using heavy materials such as picture frames, etc.
• Decorate the poster how you want simple or extravagant.
• Please put the senior’s name on the poster.
  
• Have your student drop off your poster with Mrs. Bahn’s office no later than May 3rd.
  

We will hang the posters up on a wall. Please put one small hole in the upper left and upper right corner. I do not want to mess up any picture, so please keep this area clear.

We have 64 seniors graduating this year. We want a poster for each senior.

At the end of the band gala, you can take your senior picture home. This has been a keepsake for other band gala years.

The Band Gala is a long standing tradition in TWB. EVERYONE attends. Normally it is free for all members; however, we did not have any fundraising this year, so there is a $10 cost for this year only.

• Cost: $10 per person (if you can't afford this, please see Mr. Dixon...he's got you covered)
• Can you invite someone not in band? - YES, they just can't be ugly.
• Attire: Groovy Informal or Chic Casual (both of these are made up terms so don't ask). You can wear anything from a tuxedo down to Hawaiian shirts. Just have fun with it.
• Location: WHS IMPAC Building
• Date: Saturday, May 8th
  
• Time: 7PM-10PM
• EAT BEFORE YOU ARRIVE....food is complicated these days. Go have a picnic, eat with friends at your house or eat at one of our fine establishments in Wylie, like Whataburger.
• 7PM-8PM Awards / Video Slide Show (you will pick up your awards certificate as you arrive)
  
• 8PM Dancing - DJ is WHS Captain, Mr. Alexander
• 10PM Closing Time
