Sotomayor High School counselors follow the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs, 5th edition and ASCA. We plan and implement guidance lessons and school-wide activities to support student safety, engagement and connection within our campus community. We provide individual and small group counseling services.

How to Keep Track of Grades and Attendance
The Home Access Center (HAC) allows parents to register students, complete data verification, access report cards, and track attendance.

What To Know Before the First Day of High School
Summer Camps
Get connected with your extra-curricular organizations ahead of time. A good idea would be to reach out to the point of contact listed above to find out when try-outs, camps, and summer activities are taking place.
π₯Many of our groups begin preparing before the start of the school year. during the summertime. Be sure to stay in contact with those groups you wish to participate in.π₯
Prep Days
In August, all students are welcome and encouraged to attend Prep Days for their grade level. During these days, students will:
1. Get a preliminary copy of their schedule. π
2. Tour the campus
3. Meet various faculty and staff members
4. Take their ID picture π·
5. Meet other students in their graduating class π©π»βππ¨π»βπ
6. Purchase Wildcat merchandise
7. Be able to join PTSA
8. Learn about programs and activities
9. Get information about bus transportation π

First Day of School - What to Expect
A posting list will be available in the main hallway inside for students to find their name and location of their FIRST period class.
Students will then receive a copy of their entire schedule in their FIRST period.
