Greetings!
One of the greatest aspects of early spring is the excitement and hope of what is to come. We know that beautiful flowers will be blooming and we will soon hear the laughter of children playing outside. At Sam Houston, we are excited to begin the process of welcoming our incoming freshmen and sending our seniors out into the world.
Our Counseling Team is hard at work looking through course requests and we are about ready to begin putting schedules together for next school year. If you have any questions or concerns about your student's schedule for next year, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 210-978-7900 ext 36015.
Spring Break begins on March 11th with our students returning on March 19th. When our students return, we will dive into our Spring standardized tests. Please help us in stressing the importance of the effort your student gives as the results of these tests assist our team with scheduling and scholarships, as well as teacher and administration evaluation.
As always, if you need anything at all, our door is always open.

Character Education for March is Trustworthiness
Trustworthiness is the quality of a person or a thing that inspires reliability. Trustworthy people keep their word, honor their commitments, and return what they borrow. The honesty aspect of trustworthiness involves both what we say (our words) and what we do (our conduct). Being punctual helps you establish your reputation as a dependable and consistent individual. Reliability means keeping promises and following through on commitments. Loyalty is standing up with and for someone in need.
One way to teach trustworthiness is by being a positive role model. Donโt lie when talking with your child or other adults, and follow through when promises are made.
Another way, teach your child that lies hurt and affect other people. Children need to understand that cheating and stealing are major acts of untrustworthiness. Children need to know that it feels good to be trusted and awful to be distrusted.
โTrustworthiness is a mark of a success-minded person. To be seen as trustworthy is a great compliment. When people trust you, they expect that you will honor their trust.โ ~John Patrick Hickey
