Turner's Tips
Parents,
As we look to welcome the refreshing spirit of spring, I hope this message finds you and your family in good health and high spirits. As partners in your child's education, I am reaching out to reinforce our shared commitment to maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment at Harbison West Elementary School.
With the change of season, it's a perfect time to remind ourselves of the behavioral expectations we have set for our students. These expectations are not only essential for fostering a conducive atmosphere for learning but also for nurturing the growth and development of each individual in our school community.
Here are some key points to emphasize as we move forward into the spring season:
- Respect and Kindness: Encourage your child to treat others with respect and kindness at all times. Remind them that their words and actions have a profound impact on those around them. This goes for their teachers and peers. Respect in the classroom helps minimize distractions and maximize the instructional moments each day.
- Responsibility: Work to instill in your child a sense of responsibility for their actions and belongings. Encourage them to take ownership of their learning and to contribute positively to the school community.
- Following Directions: Emphasize the importance of following directions from teachers/adults in the building when asked. Remind your child to adhere to school rules and guidelines to ensure the well-being of themselves and others.
- Communication: Maintain open and honest communication with your child's teachers and school staff. If you have any concerns or questions regarding your child's behavior or academic progress, do not hesitate to reach out for support.
- Be The HERO of Your Story: It is all about making small growth each and everyday. If we can improve by 1% each day, at the end of 180 days, we will have made tremendous growth together!
By working together to reinforce these behavioral expectations, we can create a supportive and nurturing environment where every student feels valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping us maintain a positive and inclusive school culture. Together, we can make this spring season a time of growth, learning, and success for all.
Was Your Student Absent?
