December Newsletter: A Season of Gratitude and Growth
Dear Team,
As we approach the midpoint of the school year, our vision of We Before Me continues to guide us in supporting both our students and one another. This philosophy reminds us that growth—both academic and personal—is a collective effort, and your ongoing dedication to our students’ success is evident in all you do.
Middle-of-Year Testing: Focusing on Growth
With middle-of-year testing upon us, we want to emphasize the importance of focusing on growth. While achievement scores are important, recognizing and celebrating the progress each student has made is just as crucial. Here are a few reminders as we navigate this busy time:
-
Celebrate Small Wins
Growth looks different for every student. Highlight individual successes, whether it's mastering a new skill, showing resilience, or improving focus during lessons. -
Encourage a Growth Mindset
Reinforce with students that effort and perseverance lead to improvement. Our words and actions during the testing season can help them feel confident and motivated. -
Collaborate for Support
Lean on one another! Share strategies, resources, and encouragement to ensure every student has what they need to succeed.
We Before Me in Action
In the coming weeks, let’s keep looking for ways to embody We Before Me:
- With students: Continue building relationships and fostering teamwork in classrooms.
- With colleagues: Offer a helping hand or a kind word when someone might need a little extra support.
- With families: Communicate with care as you share student progress and encourage their partnership in our efforts.
Thank you for being an incredible team. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to our vision are what make our school a place where students thrive. Together, we can make this mid-year testing period an opportunity to celebrate how far we’ve come and to set the stage for even greater growth ahead.
With gratitude,
Venitra Senegal

Congratulations to Ms. Walker & Mr. Young
A big thank you to Ms. Walker and Mr. Young for truly embodying our We Before Me vision! Your teamwork and dedication ensured learning didn’t miss a beat for Ms. Hayes’ class while she was out. By bringing her students into their classroom for RLA and Math lessons, you've demonstrated the power of collaboration and the importance of putting our students’ needs first.
Your willingness to go above and beyond for our campus is inspiring and a reminder of what makes our school so special. Thank you for living out our vision and making a difference for our students! 👏✨
