November Check in
As we near our Thanksgiving break, we'd also like to take a moment to thank you for helping hold your ninth graders accountable for focusing, using class time wisely, and using every day as an opportunity to grow and learn!
Classroom Spotlight
Thank you to Ms. Perlini and Project Prevent for inviting in a guest presenter to work with American Literature classes on November 6! Khaiim the RapOet's Empathy Cypher was a unique way for students to connect with their peers and staff in meaningful ways fostering a sense of community. We explored the meaning of peace and discussed the importance of visualizing not just the good things we want to happen but how we can manifest positivity by planning for our reactions when things don't always go our way.

What's Happening in the Classroom?
Do you have questions, comments, or concerns for a specific teacher or class?
If you have general grade level questions, please contact the 9th grade team leader, Becca Schwoerke, at rschwoerke@crec.org, or high school dean, Raynette Holmes, at raholmes@crec.org.
Philadelphia Field Trip is ON!!
We're excited to announce that we got enough sign ups for the Philly trip to run! If your child is already signed up, stay tuned for more info about additional fundraisers to help offset costs. For now, continue making monthly payments to maintain your child's spot on the trip and make sure April 23-25 is marked in your calendar!!
If your child is not signed up but still wants to go, we still have 4 spots open on the bus! Reach out to rschwoerke@crec.org ASAP if you're interested. Technically sign ups are closed, but we can work with the travel company to fill the bus!
We will put together a family meeting after winter break to check in about overnight details and prepare for the trip, but let me know if you have any questions in the meantime!
