Work Experience Student Spotlight
Sienna Schreifels
Sienna is our work experience spotlight student of the week. Sienna works at St. Cloud Orthopedics in Sartell. She has worked there for one year. Sienna enjoys creating interpersonal relationships with the patients and the fun, fast paced environment the sport center provides. Sienna started there because she has always enjoyed helping and talking with people so she saw this job opportunity as a great fit for her. Sienna plans to pursue the Health and Human Services Pathway after high school. Some advice Sienna would give to anyone interested in the work experience program is it is a great opportunity the school gives you to try out jobs for your future while also earning money to support your future, so overall I would recommend this program to everyone. When Sienna graduates she plans to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy at the college of St. Scholastica, which is helpful because she witnesses physical therapy each and everyday at St. Cloud Orthopedics.
ROCORI Alumni Corner
Dr. Steven Kron-D.D.S
Steven is a 2001 ROCORI graduate. After high school Dr. Kron attended SCSU with a major of biochemistry and then went to dentistry school at the University of Minnesota and obtained his dentist license in 2009. Dr. Kron started practicing dentistry in 2009 with Drs. Murn and Mumm and purchased the St. Cloud clinic, with his current practice partner Dr. Matthew Erlandson in 2014.
Dr. Kron enjoys getting to know patients on an individual basis. In a general practice setting you get to work with patients repeatedly and inevitably they become your friends. It is exciting to hear about upcoming vacations, the birth of children or grandchildren, retirements, college plans, career changes and more! They also share the sad moments of life with patients such as the loss of loved ones. It is a privilege to know patients individually, and to be trusted by them to provide their dental care.
Dr. Kron says practicing in the St. Cloud area allows dental professionals to have access to state-of-the-art dental resources in a community that still has a hometown feel. Central MN has incredible people who care about family, faith, and community. He recognized this growing up in the Rockville and Cold Spring areas but have really grown to appreciate as an adult special this area is. Combining state-of-the-art dentistry with an incredible patient population makes dentistry an extremely enjoyable and rewarding career.
Some advice Dr. Kron would give to high school seniors is the old saying that says “if you do something you truly love it never feels like work” is entirely true. He would encourage high school students to actively explore their interests and look for careers that suit them. When exploring careers, I would encourage students to shadow people within a profession or career, consider the demand for individuals within a given career, consider earning potential and personal demands of a career, and assess the overall lifestyle of those within a career and see if it seems right for you!
Dr. Kron would also like to use this opportunity to simply say Thank You to the ROCORI School District, teachers, administrators, and community for the incredible education and foundation that I received. He left ROCORI High School highly prepared for college, professional school, and life beyond ROCORI. Reflecting, it is abundantly clear that ROCORI Schools provided an essential foundation from which I have been able to strive and succeed in dentistry.

ROCORI CEO
ROCORI Community Works to add CEO to student offerings.
The ROCORI School district, in collaboration with the ROCORI community, is working to bring the Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) program to the ROCORI community. The program gives high school juniors and seniors an opportunity to experience all aspects of building a business while learning from over 30 business leaders in the community. This community driven program holds classes on site at business locations while students build both a class business as well as an individual business. The class is highlighted by a Trade Show at the conclusion of the experience where students show off and sell the products they have created. For more information on the CEO program, please contact Nate Guetter (guettern@rocori.k12.mn.us) at ROCORI High school.
