MHS WISHES YOUR FAMILY A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
METHACTON HIGH SCHOOL NEWSLETTER: November 20, 2024
A HUGE THANK YOU!
To all the families who donated to the staff "Souper" lunch!
Thank you to all the families who donated to the staff luncheon. It was greatly appreciated and the staff enjoyed the large variety of fall soups! We have such a great community!
North Montco is closed on 11/25 and 11/26!
Students will remain at the HS.
Auditions for Spring Musical:
Auditions for Guys and Dolls for MHS students will be December 2nd & 3rd in the Auditorium. More information, including audition forms and requirements, can be found in our MHSTC Google Classroom (7pvv5hd) and on our website: https://www.methacton.org/MHSTC. Please contact mfitzgerald@methacton.org with questions.
LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR 10TH GRADERS:
THERE WILL LIKELY BE NO SCHOOL ON NOVEMBER 27TH!
November 27, 2024 was designated in our school calendar as a snow day make up in the event we had to cancel school for snow or other emergency reasons.
For planning purposes, given the fact that we have not had a snow day/cancellation as of this writing, November 27, 2024 will most likely be a day off for students and staff.
Please note: Weather/emergency school closures between this writing and November 27, 2024 will result in the use of a Flexible Instructional Day. The only limitation to this planned determination is a widespread power outage. In such an event, we would have to cancel classes for the day and make up for the lost time by adding an extra day to the end of the school year.
PA SEAL OF BILITERACY
Methacton High School is excited to provide the opportunity for students to apply for the Pennsylvania Seal of Biliteracy beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.
Students earning this distinction will be recognized in May 2025.
Please review the Information Letter of Introduction for Seal of Biliteracy (link here) to learn about the requirements for application.

Reports of Bullying Behavior:
Understanding how to report incidents of bullying and supporting students involved is crucial. Please familiarize yourself with the District’s two reporting forms: Safe2SaySomething and MSD Title IX Form. Additionally, students are welcomed and encouraged to report any suspected bullying to a trusted adult, counselor, or administrator.
Thank you for your commitment to our students’ well-being and safety. By working together and staying informed, we can ensure that our school remains a place where everyone can learn and thrive without fear of bullying.
Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact me or our counseling team.
School Rules Matter!
If your child is late (unexcused) to class or school three times or if he/she is using their cell phone at an inappropriate time, he/she will receive a detention. Detentions run from 2:30 - 3:30 Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Your child will choose the day.
If your child does not show up, you and your child will receive a message from the detention monitor, Ms. Quintois. She will schedule your child for another day. Please do not email Ms. Quintois about the detention. She is only the monitor and does not have any specifics about your child's misbehavior.
If your child does not attend the second detention, the assistant principals will become involved and you will be notified by one of them.
