The session will provide an overview of the vision of school safety within Forsyth County Schools. Information will be shared about the proactive measures that are taking place within our system as well as how the Safety department is working to ensure that we are providing the safest environment for all of our students and staff members. Additionally, the FCS School Safety department will share the growing issues with student misuse of electronic devices and the consequences associated with these behaviors.

GaDOE Survey
- The Georgia Department of Education (GA DOE) requires all public schools to take part in the Georgia School Climate Survey, which includes separate surveys for parents and students in grades 3-12. Schools must have at least 51% student participation in the survey. If a school doesn’t meet this, its School Climate Star Rating will drop by 1 star. Parents are also encouraged to complete the Parent Survey, as schools with fewer than 15 parent responses will lose 1 star for the 2025-2026 rating. All Forsyth County students will take the survey starting December 16, 2024, unless their parent opts them out by emailing Mr. Nelson. The survey follows the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), which gives parents the right to review the survey and opt out of certain questions. For more information on PPRA, click here. .

"100% Accountable" is our 7 Mindset focus for January!
The first pillar of this mindset looks at how to "Own Your Life." Your opinion and how you feel is important. Of course, you should listen to your friends and be respectful of their ideas, but what you have to say matters too! Don’t ever let your friends control the way you feel or what you say.
