Noon Message to Families
September 23, 2024
Cedar Hill ISD Families & Community,
Customer Service is often the most important factor for any organization.
As the old saying goes, ‘you don’t have a second chance at a first impression.’ When a parent or guardian is considering enrolling their child in Cedar Hill Independent School District, the interaction that they have with the first person who greets them – whether on the phone or in person -- will go a long way in determining their opinion of our district.
We have the best, most dedicated teaching staff in Dallas County, but that doesn’t mean much if an interested family does not have their phone call returned. Parents have many options, and we are grateful for each and every one of you.
For that reason, CHISD is debuting a new customer service initiative. Here is what we are asking parents and community to look for when interacting with CHISD staff.
Effective Communication
- Clear and timely response: Staff are expected to acknowledge emails, phone calls, and other communications within 24 hours.
- Transparency: Staffa re expected to make sure all commitments made during communications are followed through.
Courtesy - Quality Service
- Approachable: Whether through a smile, open body language, or an inviting tone of voice, our staff should ensure that students and parents, feel welcome.
- Calm: Staff should greet everyone calmly, use polite language, and express gratitude for their engagement. Look for a positive and friendly tone, both in person and through written communication.
Professional Behavior
- The Golden Rule: We expect staff to approach every interaction with the mindset of treating others the way you would like to be treated.
Sincerely,
Dr. Gerald B. Hudson
Superintendent

The 2024-25 Teen Superintendent's Student Roundtable Application Window is Now Open!
We are excited to introduce a new initiative: the Teen Superintendent Roundtable (formally known as the Superintendent Student Roundtable). This program is specifically designed for our 8th and 12th-grade students, offering a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with district leadership on matters important to them and our community. Through this initiative, students will engage in meaningful discussions, share their perspectives, and contribute to the development of Cedar Hill ISD. It’s a platform where their voices can be heard, and their ideas can help shape the future of our district. We believe this Roundtable will not only empower our students but also foster a stronger sense of community and leadership among them.
