Congratulations IFS Archers!
Islamic Foundation School's (IFS) Elementary and Middle School Archery Teams have made history by qualifying for the State Finals for the very first time!
The teams are budding with excitement as they prepare to compete at the prestigious Emerald Acres Sports Complex in Mattoon, Illinois, on March 22, 2025.
It's only been two years since IFS introduced the sport of bullseye archery to its students and became the FIRST Islamic school in Illinois to form an archery team. The Archery Teams made significant progress in such a short period of time due to the students' commitment to practice under their coach's invaluable guidance. The IFS Archery Teams impressively scored win after win, rising up in the ranks quickly.
But, the road to the State Finals wasn't easy. Every Saturday, rain or shine, the dedicated archers travel a grueling three hours to compete, sharpening their skills and determination. On top of that, these student-athletes continue to practice three days a week while fasting during the sacred month of Ramadan – a true testament to their dedication and passion.
Now, the IFS Archery Teams are aiming for something higher: qualification for the acclaimed National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky. With high hopes and their focus set on the target, the IFS team plans to show the country what hard work, commitment, and passion can accomplish.
The IFS Archery Teams are just getting started and are ready to take on the challenges ahead with their sharp skills and unwavering dedication.
