December 13, 2024

Hello PV Families,
What an eventful week it has been!
This week, we enjoyed a variety of exciting activities, including I/POP gingerbread house-making with families, a Grade 1 in-house Traveling Planetarium science visit, the Grade 5 trip to the Science Fair, and professional development sessions for Grade 2 and 3 teachers. We wrapped up the week with our CCMC PJ Day fundraiser and our Holiday Fair.
A huge shout-out to the Holiday Fair committee, led by Mrs. Augustyn; and our PTO leadership, for organizing such a successful event. We are especially grateful for the creation of the PV Corner, where students without money to shop were given PV Dollars to select gifts for their loved ones. This thoughtful addition ensured every student had the chance to participate. Special thanks to all the vendors who joined us—your support made our fair the best in the district, according to me-lol!
Looking ahead:
Next Week:
- The final days of our Dress-Down Countdown to Winter Break!
- Half-days on Wednesday and Friday.
- No afterschool programs on Wednesday.
Winter Weather Reminders:
As colder weather arrives, please ensure your child is dressed warmly for recess with jackets, gloves, and proper footwear. On snowy days, snow pants and boots are required for safe play in the snow.Lost and Found:
Our lost and found is overflowing! Items will be displayed in the main lobby on Wednesday during conferences. Please take a moment to check for any of your child’s belongings. Students can also check the tables near the cafeteria during the week. Any unclaimed items will be donated to the clothing bin after December 20th.Upcoming Events & Reminders:
- Rescheduled PTO Meeting: January 9th, 2025, at 7:30 PM
- Invention Convention: Dates have changed. New dates will be shared on Friday
- PTO Wolfpack Game: January 11th
- Countdown to Winter Break Dress-Down Days: Final week!
Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you have a restful weekend!
Sincerely,
Esther & Jenna

1st Grade Traveling Planetarium Science Visit
2nd & 3rd Grade Literacy
1st & 4th Grade Partner Pals
This week, Ms. Sawn's first grade class and Mrs. Cezus's fourth grade class partnered to learn about the significance of Wreaths Across America, a national event honoring veterans. To further enhance their understanding, both classes worked together to illustrate a read and rhyme book about Wreaths Across America. Each class will now have a copy of the book to enjoy in their classroom! Fourth graders supported the first graders in helping them understand the vocabulary in the book so they could properly illustrate.
Students not only learned with each other and developed a deeper appreciation for our veterans, but learned about a community event. There will be a ceremony in Veterans Memorial Park in South Windsor on Saturday, December 14th at noon with wreath laying immediately following.
