Celebrations🎉🥳
We wanted to take time to celebrate 1st marking period accomplishments. 85.3% of our students did not receive any referrals during the 1st marking period. 12.7% of our students made Highest Honors (straight A's). 46.2% of our students made honor roll. 18.8% of our students had perfect attendnace for the 1st marking period. WAY TO GO EMS! Keep up the great work!

Important Information
Monday, November 4th will be a B day. Esperanza will be closed on Tuesday, November 5th for election day. Friday, November 8th will be a two-hour early dismissal for students.
1st marking period report cards will be available online in HAC on Wednesday, November 6th. Please review your child's grades with them and develop a plan to keep up the great job they are already doing or make a plan to improve any grades that might need improving.
Online Federal Impact Aid Forms are now available through the Home Access Center (HAC). Once logged in, directions to access the online Impact Aid form can be found HERE. A video with instructions is available HERE. The form can now be accessed in Spanish by clicking on the Globe in the top right-hand corner once the form has been started. The deadline for the online submission of Federal Impact Aid Survey forms is Friday, November 15, 2024.
Ms. Abney, our 6th-grade counselor, will be out November 12, 2024 through January 6, 2025. During her absence we will be splitting the 6th-grade by grade-level. Mr. Tompkins, our 7th-grade counselor, will take last names A-L and Ms. Gibb, our 8th-grade counselor, will take last names M-Z. Ms. McKay will remain the Assistant Principal.
After School Activities
All after-school activities end at 3:30 pm. Two or more late pickups will result in removal from after-school activities.
Monday - NJHS, Math Counts, Wiffle Ball, and Tennis
Tuesday - None
Wednesday - Honors Chorus, Symphonic Band, Yearbook, Wiffle Ball, and Tennis
Thursday - Field Hockey, Running Club, Civil Air Patrol, Jazz Band, and BATB Jr Solo work: Belle & Stage Manager
Friday - None
Upcoming Events
- All schools and offices will be closed on Monday, November 11th in honor of Veteran's Day.
- On November 14, 2024, Frank Kros will present, Wonder Words: Using the Power of Language to Help Kids Learn and Thrive from 6 pm- 8 pm at the Forrest Career & Technology Center, Dohrman A. The workshop is free but registration is required via email to parnersforsucess@smcps.org
- Picture makeup and retake day will take place on Thursday, November 14th. If you are doing retakes, please bring back the original pictures to return them.
8th Grade Dance
This dance will take place right after school for 8th-grade students ONLY; students must be picked up at 4:00 p.m. Parents will not need to come inside to pick up students. Students will be released to the parking lot at 4:00 p.m. to go home. The permission slip to attend the dance will be in the November 10th SMORE and available in the cafeteria starting Tuesday, November 12th. The cost to attend the dance is $5.00. Students must have their $5.00 and signed permission slip during homeroom on Friday, November 15th , to get their dance wristband. No dance wristbands will be sold after homeroom, and no students can call home to get permission to attend the dance.
