Battle of the Books

More than 100 students are readers in Battle of the Books, who have each read at least 8 books (for 3rd grade) or 15 books (for 4th/5th grade) since the beginning of the school year. Once a month, the students gather to discuss the books in a fun, lively and engaging format.

Washington holds its 4th and 5th grades Battle of the Books competition day on Wednesday, March 13. Various parent volunteer and donations spots are open. Please check our Sign-up Genius to be part of this event.

Explorer MADE Marketplace

The spring marketplace will be held on Wednesday, March 27th. Students can register here to sign up and reserve a table. Items for sale must be homemade by the student and priced under $5. Marketplace questions? Contact: Katy Park-Li: made@explorerspta.org

Multi-Cultural Night

We are excited to invite you to be part of the 6th annual Multi-Cultural Night on Friday, March 15. You and your family and friends can represent a culture at a booth or perform a dance or music. Earth Day Fair - Craft Table

PTA is looking for someone to head up our up-cycle craft table for our Earth Day Fair on Friday, April 26. In past years, crafts have included planting tomato seeds in cardboard egg cartons, making flower seed bombs, and reusing cardboard toilet paper rolls to make bird feeders. Any of these crafts can be repeated, or we can try something new. We can also ask our school community to donate items, such as egg cartons, as needed. If you (and/or a group) can think of an environmentally-minded craft and demonstrate/lead the craft at the Fair, please contact web@explorerspta.org

Yearbooks on Sale

Order your 2023-24 Washington yearbook here (school code: 188813M).

Discounted yearbooks are $28 through March 19, 2024. Note that prices will increase to $33 on March 20.
This is a NEW online pay site this year, so every parent will need to select ‘Register’ first before you can purchase a yearbook.
Please note that Parent Ads are only for 5th grade parents.
