Hello, King's Highway Families,

Trunk or Treat - Saturday, October 19th

We are looking for a few more cars to sign up! Put your creative skills to the test. Who will have the most creative trunk? Sign up HERE. Please join us for the Title One Trunk or Treat and Spooky Story Time from 4-6 PM at Kings Highway Elementary School. Wear your Halloween costume and be treated to some fun, kid-friendly, spooky stories. Then, enjoy face painting, bean bag toss games, Movie Tavern popcorn, and Herrs Chips! All families who join us will receive a raffle ticket and a chance to win a family four-pack of tickets to Urban Air, including t-shirts and socks!

Red Ribbon Week: The Red Ribbon Campaign® is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation, reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week®, October 23rd - October 31st each year. At King’s Highway, we use the week to celebrate making healthy choices for our bodies

Parents and Guardians, please read the monthly Title One brochure. It has helpful information about parent-teacher conferences and homework. (It is Attached below.) Also, would you like some more information about parent engagement topics sent to your home? Please fill out one of these forms and return it to Mrs. Chanudet at chanudetc@casdschools.org. Resources will be mailed out.

On Thursday, October 31st - students are welcome to dress up to celebrate their fall spirit for Harvest Day. Masks of any sort and full-face paint are not permitted. Any costume accessory that resembles a weapon is not permitted.

The Good News Club is an available community organization/club for students in grades 1 through 5 and is provided by an outside organization not affiliated with CASD or King's Highway Elementary School.

The club begins on October 22 and runs weekly on Tuesdays after school until 5:15. Permission slips for the organization are available in the main office.

Please know that families do not have to send treats or gifts for your child's birthday. Teachers and students take great pride in making our students feel special on their birthday. If you do feel the need to send something for your student to enjoy with their classmates, please follow the birthday guidelines below.

If sending food: Treats must be peanut-free and store-bought. Please do not send sheet cakes or homemade treats. Individually wrapped Items such as pencils, stickers, erasers, etc., are acceptable too, and last longer than edible treats

Part of being a King's Highway student is showing PRIDE. Our staff members will be on the lookout for our students who are Positive, Respectful, Inclusive, Reliable, and Engaged. We ask that all students keep their pride mindset strong both in and out of school.
