Children's Mental Health Week
In the last week before the half term break we celebrated Children's Mental Health Week. The most important part of our successful school is the students. All the systems and policies we have in place are to support the development of your children and their mental health is as important as their achievement in their grades. Place 2 Be is a mental health charity that we work with throughout the year and we have a counsellor from Place 2 Be who works on our school site to support individual students. The final week of half term was intended to reach all students. To celebrate this we:
Played uplifting music through the tannoy each morning. Ran pop-up clubs before school/lunch time/after school. Ran a range of special form time activities including the chance to win a slot at the pop up photobooth. Raised money for the mental health charity Place 2 Be and our school food bank with a trainers day.
Lister's Curriculum for the Following Half Term
The curriculum page of our website is very informative and useful for you to visit to get the sense of what will be happening through your child’s year of learning at Lister. This part of the site is divided into year groups and then subjects with topics covered in the curriculum for each half term. If you click on the link then you can see exactly what your child will be studying week by week and have conversations about particular topics in each subject. Why not pay it a visit and see what the term ahead looks like?
