2025-2026 School Year Calendars Approved
The Mequon-Thiensville School District Board of Education approved the 2025-2026 MTSD school year calendars at their regular business meeting on Monday, December 16. Though there is no such thing as a perfect school calendar, please know that our Calendar Committee gave careful consideration to how best to support our students and staff through the 2025-2026 calendar development.
Andrew Sarnow Selected as Executive Director of Business Services
Mr. Andrew Sarnow was recently announced as the Mequon-Thiensville School District’s next Executive Director of Business Services following Ms. Sarah Viera's resignation after nearly ten years of dedicated service. The MTSD Board of Education approved Mr. Sarnow’s hire during its regular business meeting on Monday, December 16, and his first official day with MTSD will be Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Andrew was selected from a highly qualified pool of candidates after a rigorous interview process that engaged three dedicated teams of stakeholders. These teams included District administrators, staff, and community members, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate’s experience, vision, and alignment with MTSD’s values.
MTSD Strategic Planning Update
The Mequon-Thiensville School District (MTSD) has kicked off its strategic planning process for 2025-2028, reflecting the District’s commitment to continuous improvement and alignment with Board Policy #0117, which mandates periodic reviews of the District’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives. This process builds upon the previous strategic plan and aims to ensure the district remains responsive to emerging challenges and community needs. MTSD's policy highlights the importance of refreshing the strategic plan every three to five years to maintain alignment with the district's evolving priorities and challenges. As the current strategic plan approaches its conclusion, the district is preparing a plan to proactively engage all school district stakeholders to shape its direction for the next three years.
The planning process is comprehensive, involving several key phases including:
November: Board Engagement
December: Stakeholder Survey
January: Data Analysis & Focus Groups
February: Goal Refinement
March: Finalization and Approval
This open approach reflects MTSD's commitment to excellence and a bright future for the school community. Please stay tuned for more information to come as the strategic planning process continues.
