Mountain Lion Memo
Family Newsletter - October 18th
Hello Mackeben Families,
Halloween Reminders:
Classrooms will be hosting Halloween parties on Thursday, October 31st. Your child's classroom teacher will have specific information about the day.
Costume Guidelines:
Costumes should be worn over clothes so that students can pull them on/off independently.
Costumes should be appropriate, should not be violent in nature and should not include weapons, (fake or plastic), or masks that cover the entire face.
Hair dye, make-up, and minimal face paint must be applied at home (i.e. whiskers and a nose).
We are looking forward to a fun filled day. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Marzullo - mmarzullo@district158.org
Shining Bright - Staff Star of the Week!!!!
Mrs. Trisha Svendsen
Mrs. Svendsen is a caring, supportive and creative teacher!!! She has been a kindergarten teacher at Mackeben for over twenty years and has molded the lives of so many students throughout the years. As a kindergarten teacher, she develops the foundational skills for literacy, math and social emotional learning to allow students to learn and grow throughout their educational career.
Mrs. Svendsen has so many talents including her ability to choose the most engaging books to incorporate specific literacy skills, come up with innovative ways to support individual students needs and incorporate songs and movement to keep all students excited about learning.
Besides being a top notch teacher, Mrs. Svendsen is a loving mother to her five children, who also are Huntley 158 graduates and current students. You'll find her on the softball and baseball fields during the year, keeping up with all her children's activities.
We are so lucky to have Mrs. Svendsen at Mackeben and appreciate all that she does as a building leader and loving teacher.
Art to Remember
Hi families and friends, Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child’s art. Order forms were sent home earlier this week with information on how to order. There are over 50 products and many are less than $20. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school to help support the art room. Click on the link below and enter the online order code shown on your child’s order form or to search for your child’s artwork. Then, have fun shopping! Order deadline 10/25/24
